āJames Borrengo is part of the candidates because AD has a good relationship with him.
AD has a say in the process & search so Front office is hearing out ADās ideas. Thatās why heās in the process. He was the Pels offensive coordinator this season"
Per Jovan Buha
āWhen they chose to fire Darvin Ham, I was told that one of the many, many considerations was that it was pretty evident that AD was not on board anymore with Darvin ⦠Last thing they wanted was for AD to be frustrated with the situation ..."

"There is division in the Lakers organization about adding Trae Young via trade."
-- Sam Amick
Trae Young- his stats will instantly dip playing as 3rd option behind AD and Lebron. Lebron ego is so big, he going get his stats. So take away 10 points from Trae Young average, then you going also lose Trae young being an all star status. He wonāt be making all stars in the west. Young would actually have to guard stud PGs. So he would have the ball less then in Atlanta and actually play defense at a championship level? How does that make sense? He would cost the moon and the stars in a trade too
Young on this team would set the Lakers back another decade. I rather blow the current team up than end up worse than the Suns with a big 3.
S/O Rob, JJ and Bronny tho

I miss the old days... we have a board of Linda and Kurt Rambis, Lebron and Klutch calling the shots behind the scenes

I wish LeBron and Klutch was calling the shots
The Lakers have held formal meetings with JJ Redick, James Borrego, and Sam Cassell over the past several days.
Team officials plan to meet with David Adelman, Micah Nori and Chris Quinn as they do their due diligence on the candidate pool.

It all sounds like they're just doing a formality in interviewing other coaches and Redick is their guy.
If Pelinka is able to put together a good roster and they're able to get quality assistants then I'm here for it. He's definitely a better basketball mind than Darvin, that's for f***ing sure.
āLeaguewide, Redick ā a former player and media a***yst ā has garnered buzz for the position. The Lakers are infatuated with Redickās potential, according to league sources, viewing him as a Pat Riley-like coaching prospect who could both help the franchise in the short term and lead it for years.ā
