would be nice to have an assistant GM that does
what happened to hiring one ??
Lowkey think that Rob just decided to say f*** it, I'll do it all myself this offseason after the main guy he was hoping to get decided to stay in Philly.
Apparently Rob has been hyping this offseason to Luka's camp for a while so now it's all on him. There's no excuse.
If he doesn't deliver, then he definitely should be in the hot seat.
I'm sure they're still working on that and I think starting this offseason, we're gonna start having lowkey moves like a Josh Minott that ends up being a steal. Idk, I believe in him. We finally have cap space + picks to trade and a built out front office.
Nurkic could be an option as a starter or backup, probably more realistic as a backup than Rob Will if we were to get Claxton.

One thing that always bothers me about Rob since he's been in charge is that simple things are always a frustrating experience
Getting a center for AD, hiring a head coach, hiring an assistant GM, signing rookies to standard 4 year deals, getting the right center for Luka
Only reason why I'm not completely out on him is anytime he is under intense pressure, he somehow delivers and makes a trade that transforms this team (ex. DLO x Vando trade, DFS trade, Luka trade, Luke Kennard trade, etc.)
So i have no choice but to give him the benefit of the doubt and put my faith in him.
from Marc Steinâs most recent newsletter:
Quaintance and Reed Jr. are two big men connected to the Lakers in the draft
have called the Thunder about Dort
Nigga do you know how long I'll cry if Ware on the squad with Luka. I ain't even read the rest of them names, I immediately hit my knees. No Diddy
That's a squad
Question: Lakers getting close on an assistant GM?
"This has been a surprise around NBA circles, but the team has yet to fill the assistant general manager role they sought to handle player evaluation and development.
The team was unable to land Minnesota executive Steve Senior or Philadelphia exec Prosper Karangwa.
Theyâve been conducting interviews since before the end of the playoffs and still havenât landed a candidate they want who wants to come to Los Angeles.
Kurt Rambis, who has relationships with both the older regime and the newer one, is also still involved, per league sources granted anonymity to discuss the Lakers freely."
