If he couldn’t drop 50 on Portland what makes you think he will on Houston? Lol AD is so overrated he’s nice but he’s not doing that and he’s not doing that consistently

While playing center, AD shot 75% in the paint against a team that played two 7 footers (one of which was the best shot blocker in the league)

Against that team he almost dropped 50 in game 5 (43 points on 36 min of playing time)

Yes whiteside gets blocks but he’s an awful defender ask any Portland or heat fan. It’s empty stats. Nurk is also a bad defender especially on a leaner quicker guy like AD. Why do you think every Portland hake before the playoffs was so close? They’re awful all around at defense.

Ask any Portland fan how often Nurkic & Whiteside played more than 20 mins per game on the court together. They may be a bad defensive team, but their strategy of keeping AD out of the paint was effective.

When four seven footers were on the court (Nurk, Whiteside/Gabriel, AD, & McGee/Howard) AD shot 44.4% in the paint.

The reason Portland's strategy was blown out of the water is because AD found his jumpshot under those same conditions, shooting 56.3% on jumpers.

AND because they also had to stop Bron on top of that lmao

Now the Rockets are a better defensive team, but they have no strategy (that I can think of) for keeping AD out of the paint. Which means high percentage shots or high percentage free throws and a lot of points.
