How did we play last night?
I only got time to catch the 4th. I saw we were in control most of the game..
Didnāt play that well tbh but a W is a W
can't believe how you niggas failed at rebuilding through the draft, but ended up getting the 2 best players in the game and are now about to sweep the finals
this is borderline cheating
The lakers never build through the draft lol
The lakers never build through the draft lol
I donāt think itās that we donāt..we just never had to..we had been good/consistent for so long till 7yrs ago when it blew up

How did we fail at rebuilding through the draft? We landed the following through the draft.
Brandon Ingram - An All Star and MIP winner
D'Angelo Russell - An All Star
Kuzma - A solid role player for a late 1st round pick
LonZo Ball - Solid PG who was a trade chip
Josh Hart - Great role player who was a trade chip
Larry Nance - A suitable 6th man in the NBA who landed a sizable contract for a late 1st round pick
Svi - A rotational player in the NBA in the second round
Jordan Clarkson - A solid 6th man in the league, who earned multiple contracts now
Randle - A true bum, but we got him to earn a nice contract lolol
Zubac - the starting center for the best team in the league
We currently now have THT, who was able to crack the rotation in the playoffs which is impressive for a second round pick. We used our assets to get us to where we landed now.
Clarkson and Nance allowed us to open cap room to sign LeBron
Ingram, Zo, and Hart allowed us to gain AD
D'Angelo trade allowed us to land LeBron
Svi and Zubac were sadly traded away for nothing.
Lakers scouting has been amazing. We could've drafted Okafor and we WOULD NOT be where we are now.
These niggas tried to kill me but THAT'S 3! šš

Sadly DāAngelo only had to be traded away to rid of Mosgovs awful contract

Yeah, i didn't include that point. But it was a move to land a superstar, LeBron James.
Mozgov and Deng contracts would've expired this summer too.
We'll be paying Loul Deng $5million for the next 3 years instead.

But if the clippers won it all no one would be b****ing like that^^^
The Clippers did the same lol
Both teams have the advantage of location whereas smaller market teams have to depend on the draft and/or lucking out on under the radar players

They did the same, thatās my point. Itās bad because we did it.
Every successful team builds through free agency/making trades if they can.

It will be all worth it if we win it all this year

Itās very rare that a 100% (or close to it) organically built team wins a championship. The core of the team may have been drafted by the organization but thereās typically always a piece or two that were either traded for or signed via free agency
It blows my mind how people act surprised still that teams are built this way when itās been the norm (at least for contending level teams) for decades
They did the same, thatās my point. Itās bad because we did it.

I wouldnāt say itās bad since thereās not really anyway to make it fair and itās been this way forever
But itās egregious to say you built through the draft. You got AD because you got Bron and you got Bron because itās Los Angeles. Sure you had some pieces which helped get him a year earlier than waiting for him to hit FA.
Building through free agency is different for smaller market teams and the Lakers/Clippers and other big markets lmao
Ofc there are outliers like the Knicks lol
S/o Rich Paul
I never thought I would ever say this in this lifetime or any other, but I am so incredibly happy for, and proud of, Dwight Howard
Speaking of..
We've now seen Orlando Dwight, Boston Rondo, and on defensive Miami LeBron
If we get past Denver it would be the perfect time for San Antonio Danny to make his appearance, even if just for a few games because that's all we would need.
