I mean is the movie bad? Is that more the reason that studios are passsing?

His last movie kinda sucked ass but I really dont think that one bad movie would lead to such decline. It's more so about how all those companies listed have a strong hold on AI and this movie probably portrays it in a negative light.

Just my two cents.

I feel you. I personally enjoyed After The Hunt. I think Luca has been working with Amazon for his past three (maybe 4?) films so I know this is probably tough to find a new studio. A24 I think distributed Queer which wasn’t critically beloved by any sense of the imagination.

I.mean even IF Artificial isn’t good, I think the cast and subject matter alone is enough to have studios interested.
