    One day I’ll stop winning.

  • In truth, I think “Mount planned for significant role” has been the expectation for the last 4 seasons and 3 managers, he’s just never fit enough to meet the expectations.

  • lmaoo Valencia be eating good

  • Hoping that’s just Cuckhurst interaction rage baiting, that guy has no sources anymore

But we’ve seen Carrick use Mount in CM on the rare occasions he played anyway so it’s nothing new to us.

I think the issue will only be if we’re only signing two CMs (Santos + one more) and expecting Mount to make up the fourth number…

    Apparently Amorim wants Mazraoui

I’m pretty indifferent about Mazraoui in general but in a 50+ game season having a two side fullback with his experience is a player we probably can’t let go

I’d keep him one more season whilst we fry the bigger fish areas (CM, left side)

Next summer’s “rebuild” will definitely be predominantly CB for sure. Every CB in the squad is pretty much fighting for their future:

    • It’s a stick or twist season for Martinez who currently has 1 year left (we have the option to extend)
    • Maguire is 33 so this should realistically be the last season of him being a first choice/key CB
    • Yoro’s third season to either prove he’s the elite level talent we thought or continue to bad run of form from last season and we really reassess that player
    • We will be able to confirm whether or not De Ligt is alive
    • Heaven is probably the most comfortable. 19 years old, homegrown, hopefully gets more minutes to illustrate talent

Heaven should be higher in the picking order for sure

It’s one of those — I’d f***ing love if Carrick went balls to the wall and just made Yoro and Heaven the starting pairing — physical profile massively increases and you can play a much higher line with two fast CBs

But at the same time no top level manager worth their salt is starting a 20 and a 19 year old

Martinez is also such a double edged sword because he has so many obvious limitations whilst also being the best ball playing CB in Europe basically

    Yoro isn’t particularly fast tho

  • this is not an alt

    He’s like 70 pace

Maguire is like 55 pace and Martinez is like 41 pace
