minjimy favorite parts of Endgame werent fan service though
Real ones know the best moments of Endgame are the quiet character moments where no action is happening

Damn what’s with all the Endgame hate ITT?
I love both IW and Endgame, but I think Endgame is clearly the better movie.
IW is absolutely amazing but I feel like, of the two, it relies more on the spectacle and previous knowledge of the MCU rather than just existing as a movie on its own.
And yeah I know you’re probably thinking Endgame does the same with the visits to previous locations from past movies and the huge fight at the end, but Endgame has a way better defined three act structure, and a more emotional arc and theme throughout the entire film.
IW doesn’t have too many character/emotional beats outside of Gamora and Thanos, which is fine for the type of movie it is, but Endgame uses the characters and emotions to drive the entire movie forward, eventually ending with Tony’s ultimate sacrifice.
IW is still amazing but Endgame will always be better to me for those reasons

I think personally the length in the first 2 acts keeps me from re-watching Endgame a lot
God during lockdown I watched infinity war and endgame together because someone I knew had never seen them and only led up with civil war lol

I’ve never understood the hate on the time travel element in Endgame because it’s really well explained in the movie and there aren’t any gaping holes in the logic the movie lays out for itself

The second half of the movie is. But that entire first hour/hour and a half is character work and the Avengers trying to convince themselves that it’s even worth it to try and reverse what happened.
The first hour and a half plays out like a drama and the second hour and a half is where it becomes the action movie/reverse capture the flag.
That’s why I’m saying there’s more happening in the story of Endgame compared to IW, which is just two and a half hours of nonstop action

Even though Endgame has a ton of fan service itself, I feel like IW is the one movie out of those two that doesn’t really make sense without extreme prior knowledge to the MCU
Like I feel like if you gave those two movies to two people who have never seen an MCU project before, they would follow along with Endgame way better than they would with IW
