But what I’m unsure of with Loki is: Is it really the start of the multiverse breaking? That is never indicated or referenced in other media dealing with the multiverse, and any inference has been fan-based. When Feige said it was Loki, it seemed more like was he doing that thing he does where he retroactively makes one thing another thing (ie the boy in Iron Man 2 being Peter)

I look at it this way:

Sylvie killing He Who Remains broke the barrier that kept the Sacred Timeline in tact. That opened the Multiverse to be explored.

So everything that happened after that (What If, No Way Home, MOM) was able to happen because that barrier was broken. I think that was always the intention (post COVID ofc)

Now I do have an issue with a lack on explanation in the films themselves. Sure the characters might not know what happened, but the audience kind of has to have seen Loki to know how everything popped off which shouldn’t be the case.
