It is kinda funny to me to see a lot of people (understandably) upset about all the crossovers in this series when this,

Was the cover of the first issue of his series.
Spiderman and friends ass movie about to see iceman too
Amazing friends live action instead of this movie would have been sick .
Fun fact: this is actually NOT shot on location
lol u clearly know nothing about movies
I spoiled the whole thing but I’m excited. I miss the “street level” vibe, and I really liked Homecoming. If it can clear that, I’ll be satisfied

Spidey 5
It is a shame that the movie doesn’t seem to be as standalone as I was hoping though.
Never thought this would top SM2 in a million years, that movie transcends the genre itself, but honestly I’ve skipped almost every MCU movie over the last couple of years outside of Guardians 3, so my interest in this is solely because I’m a Spider-Man mark.

What better way to launch your solo following his debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 than to show off powers in front of Marvels biggest thing at the time? It was a brief side-mission in a wider 2-part story
Peter desperately wanted to join the group for money and fame then crashed out when he found out they didn't pay
Spidey crossovers are fine and usually fun but you don't want tooooo much of it

No I know, I just find it kinda funny.
The ideal solo, street-level Spider-Man movie though already happened, and it was 2. There’s no going back to that kind of movie outside of another reboot produced exclusively by Sony.
And I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Yeah i get it. Pretty confident this film will be a blast but there's nothing quite like SM2. Just rewatched recently and remember the initial impression so well as a little kid in the theater.
Spider-Man/Sony uniquely has never really left the same pot of producers. Fiege, Pascal and Avi Arad have been doing SM since the first in 2002. I can see their/Sony's approach being "we already did that" for so many classic elements of the character.
Wish they just threw it all at Tom though
SLOP MOVIE
I mean, people did know it was shot in the heat of COVID right?
It wasn’t like a lazy creative choice or anything, hell, I imagine shooting it like that is significantly more expensive and a bigger headache than shooting on location, especially given that that shot lasts for like 2 seconds.

Yeah, but also, looking at Sony’s personal “Spider-Man” output also makes me think that we should probably be grateful to even be getting solid to good Spider-Man movies.

There's this Marvel Team-Up comic series where they pair up Marvel Characters and 140 out of the 150 issues have Spider-Man as one of the pair
They've been using him to boost other characters for decades now and just cause of how well he riffs off others.
I really want to see him and Thor interact in the MCU
reviews aren't looking too good
these movies being part of a shared universe that try to set things up seem to a common complaint, which is exactly why i f***ing hate mcu spider-man. it's over.

nwh would've been historic in any circumstance
why try to get it out during covid? the mcu demands a new product be released every couple of years. they have a machine running that churns out movies every couple of years
would matt reeves drop the batman 2 during a lockdown just to get it out?

Full defense mode activated
Many say overstuffed but say it has pivotal moments
I mean you can tell it’s overstuffed just by the trailers.

Resurrections shot in the peak of Covid and I can still acknowledge it’s deeply flawed in writing while respecting it for what it is

You’re missing the point . Yall act so dense like a comic that cost 12 cents in a serialized series , a 90s episode of a cartoon compare to a 500 million dollar budget product rushing the content in 2 hours and 30 minutes that takes half a decade to drop
The point remains there is a world where Sony and Disney work stuff out enough where spider man could cameo in punisher tv show , daredevil tv show and a hulk movie . That’s the ideal world and to me was the point of Disney deal for them to have flexibility to do that rather than try to shotgun it all onto spider man movies
