    i think its because the newer ones remove a lot of what make him appealing while introducing new things i.e. everyperson struggle to make money and a s***ty boss, maintaining anonymity with those closest to him, etc

    by comparison to goblin and doc oc, hollands villains don't have as close of a relationship with him, (which is fine a lot of spidey villains don't but theres a loss of psychological tension), theres less tension since aunt may knows his identity, and he doesn't quite have to balance making it work in the city cus he kind has money.

    So even though he experiences a lot... there is a loss of certain characteristics though his comradery with mj n ned are cool, a loss of tension in maintaining his secret identity, the horror element/fear on display when fighting villains (to their death lol), and i think they could do a slightly better job of displaying the psychology of the character. but he's mostly a kid in his films, and earnest and positive. just a different weight and tone.

    i still wanna see this again tho!

    I consider Vulture just as connected to Peter as Ock and Goblin. Just because he’s after Stark tech doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a connection

    If we remember, Goblin’s motives were against the Oscorp com that kicked him out and Spidey got in the way. Connected to Peter through a school friend

    Also Green Goblin and Dr Ock are beat for beat the same origin. Peter mentor figure and scientist who turns evil after an experiment gone wrong. Not actually evil but mind is controlled

    spider man 1 and 2 still clear all mcu spidey movies as movies for me

    Brand New Day is the first mcu spider man movie where I can say it balances all elements I would want well. its what I have wanted from them for a while. Especially when they said no origin. I think the entire homecoming trilogy is an origin story

    Yeah it’s a fair take to take to prefer the Rami movies, I guess I don’t get with the narrative that they are the definitive Spidey movies ever

    I think because the nail all the elements of what it means to be spider man as a character . Is that comic panels or perfect action ? No but all other Elements they nail including villains . Wish Harry hobgoblin was better but they are that good .

    Again as I mentioned if this mcu spider man introduced more spider man characters, Peter friends , he got a job , scoop existed , j Jonah more than a joke I could lean more this way

    I mean scorpion in this movie is an after thought . Tombstone an after thought . They hyped up this “ it’s a villain you haven’t seen or we haven’t shown “

  • When the writing , plot and dialogue gets a bit better it will easily be best . The reason many are saying the best lies more in fan service than writing to me . This was a big improvement from others though

    yea i give that a pass cus theres some seperation. its also how it is in the comics too

    a lot of this has more to do with aesthetic/visuals/color grading , tone. and execution. i loveeeeeee vulture
