DDC made Ned bearable. Jon watts is hack

This feels great but also like accepting the bare minimum for what spider man should be since we’ve been starved for a good live action film. All I could think throughout the film is “damn, Jon watts is hack”

Still can’t figure out why it’s called Brand New Day

them day names never made any sense except maybe the first one

theres a comic story called brand new day where spidey's marriage to MJ, and his relationships with harry and aunt may and stuff was deleted through a mephisto spell.

they 'adapted that' loosely the same way they really loosely did civil war and infinity war (taking super foundational elements and basically just using it as a rough guide and fitting it to the mcu)

but also thematically the ending with the 'brand new day' title with the steve lacy song is like spiderman finally getting over his mutli year old ptsd depression and seeing the sun shine again and figuring out how to live happily again. like a 'the sun will shine again' motivational type ending/title

my other 'problem' is that this movie is pretty much thunderbolts without a squad of people

Would probably dip too much into the Insomniac Spider-Man game tbh.

Kraven would obviously be sick, but if they do the symbiote then that also runs the risk of being too similar to Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.
