“This movie has an issue, which is: it’s not “Marvel” enough for the big audiences. And for the cinefiles that love Chloé Zhao’s films like Nomadland it’s definitely not artsy enough (too many superhero cliches, too much CGI).
This is mostly the reason for the divisiveness in the reviews. Either not artsy enough / too many superhero element or too slow/artsy for others”
Or that may be over complicating it even more and it’s just not that fire

I been joking in here about the bad reviews but i sincerely hope i at least like this movie personally
I wonder how a marvel vs dc movie would actually be
They leave the winner up to fan ckte and every DC character loses
They leave the winner up to fan ckte and every DC character loses
Except Batman

New Batman movie gonna be the best superhero movie ever made

So basically it does not commit. I'm pretty sure all the Marvel f***ery in this movie is mandatory, like they will let you experiment, as long as one of the characters in the movies will remember to quip after a tragic death
Shang Chi didn't go all the way with committing as well, but that first half was fresh

Damn I was gonna check out the rest of her discography because I loved Nomadland

hear countless saying it doesn’t commit to what it wants to be, leading to a lackluster marvel formula attempt and lackluster artsy attempt
Just got back from watching this. Here are some thoughts:
Overall this is a misfire from Marvel and I can see how its getting mid reviews. Marvel has had terrible films in the past but they all played within the formula so I think most people gave them a pass.
This tries to do something different but fails at it for the most part. I think the story they are trying to tell here would've worked better as a miniseries.
