MJ couldnt get the civil trial to go after criminal. If he was just guilty paying away, why risk it all with pushing for the harder to defend trial?

So if MJ didn't settle, he had to testify in the civil case - which could then be twisted into the basis of the criminal case thus removing MJs human right to a fair trial. The law changed after this

Once younger generations got ahold of those allegations, they wouldn't have given af about the court case.

And he would have likely had more accusers come forward.
