I guess him dying did give people enough time to miss him though, I've noticed other than when Leaving Neverland (total hitpiece btw) that people generally have a much better opinion of him now than his last few years where he always the butt of jokes and the media did EVERYTHING they could to make him look like s***. The pedo accusations were just one part of it, I remember how f***ing nuts people went over him "dangling" his kid over a balcony

Disagree heavily with OP though. I don't think it did anything to save his legacy at all. I don't have a magic ball but I have the opposite opinion if MJ was alive today, He'd prob have a better reputation although he was in pretty rough shape by the time he died so for him to keep living he'd have to make some pretty drastic changes, dude was on a pretty extreme cocktail of d**** and had been for a while IIRC he started his pain med abuse after the pepsi commercial fire

MJ was about to make his big comeback tour, Watch "This is It" if you haven't seen it btw, Really good doc.
That tour sold out quick asf and was looking to be a huge success financially and for his image.
Really do wish he lived on though, One of the greatest performers ever, It makes me really sad how he got treated, I don't think he was perfect or anything like bro why did you have to get so much plastic surgery but there were and still are SO MANY MISCONCEPTIONS about him, I mean people still believe dude bleached his skin to look white and that he didn't actually have vitiligo.
Also I'm on the side of opinion where he wasn't a pedophile just a bit of a weirdo which isn't surprising at all given his upbringing and megastar lifestyle, I mean, if he was a predator like some claim, he would have def been smashing Corey Feldman who to this day says MJ was one of the few adults who didn't abuse him
