I just finished watching it for the first time and I f***ing LOVED it! WOW, maybe my expectations were extremely low but after watching it, I’m honestly not sure what all the hate and controversy surrounding it when it was first released was really about. Maybe it was a wrong place, wrong time situation but I thought everyone involved did a wonderful Job and I honestly didn’t think The Weeknd was bad at all. People made it seem like it was the worst acting they’d ever seen but bruh was solid tbh. I don’t think he’ll ever be confused with Denzel but his performance definitely worked for me so I don’t know. All in all I loved the cast, loved the story, loved the music. I f***ed with it

yeah u can look up photos of the original direction the show had, it looked more like a lighter depiction of a 00s-Britney Spears type of character and a child supporting character too

I enjoyed it when it was airing, but I rewatched the first episode recently, and just thought it was kind of boring.

I completely agree with you about The Wekknds acting though. He was fine.

They should have leaned more into the campiness otherwise a pretty decent show.

It had a lot of potential and some pretty solid casting, I respect a lot of the actors/performers in it as well,

I don't think it was given time to breathe as a production bc they had all that behind the scenes bs going on and it felt rushed by the end.

Woulda been nice for it to be a 10 ep season and have some more character development fleshed out, some more music creation scenes with every one. it became a little too self-indulgent after a while which i guess parallels tedros character and most of them anyway but
