They aren't investing anything in her. She's cool with 40 and the crew and 40 works with several artists in his studio, most of who aren't signed to OVO Sound.
It's many people who OVO associate with who aren't officially signed to the label. They've been cool with her for a minute now. If she was ever gonna be signed, it'd have happened already.
Holy s*** do you ever get tired of being loudly wrong and talking out your ass?
Both Another Life and Celestial are very good. Love the production on those.
Would love to hear Drake on those beats
Another Life would’ve been a dope addition to HNVM
It is unique. She sounds better on the second joint imo. First joint gives me amateur vibes. I’m gonna need to see more of what makes her special

this song special
He's already found that in Dave.
Feel like them two got something in the works over years but letting Dave develop on his independent grind. There's a reason they haven't dropped any music together yet after wanna know remix despite being very close.
Very interested to see if that ever culminates in a signing or collab album.
Eh, I disagree. Dave is mad talented but I don't see him being a massive commercial force. Also, he's a UK rapper. It'll be that much harder to break him in the US.
I'd like more collabs with him and Drake, though. Surprised we don't have those yet.
That guy be like “she sold her p**** to drake. She hasn’t denied it so it must be true
”
“Wait she actually didn’t f*** him? Show me the receipts
”
Dude is a weirdo and I know many more people will say the same weirdo s***. Happy for her. From Drake/40's posts, seems like this has been in the bag as far back as when she was supposed to be on CLB. Her boyfriend really messed things up for her and delayed all this s***.
Interested in hearing what a full body of work from her sounds like and hopefully, she can carve out a lane for herself to flourish in.

Why is it hard for UK rappers to break in the US? Their singers do just fine.
I watched Nia Archives blow up in real time and she's still technically new.

Americans are ignorant dummies who have an issue with the accent UK rappers have. UK singers tend to mask their accents when they sing so they find it easier to break through.

Nothing wrong with being wrong. I gave my take based on what was out there and that turned out to be inaccurate. Relax.

I'm an American. I resent this.
But you might be right. Emmavie should've been huge.

Y'all are really ignorant about the world outside of the US. You have to at least acknowledge that.
I wonder if OVO Sound signs a female group in the near future. FLO would have been a great addition to the label.

Alright pal one more time and it's defcon 3
But yeah. You're right. I saw how little received people like Giggs and Sonnyjim were.

On this - I was at a restaurant with my fam on holiday in Florida in 2010, the waiter asked us where we from, told the dude we’re from South Africa.
Guy replied - “y’all from Africa and y’all not black!?” I’m mixed race

I'm mixed race too and I can't tell you enough stories about the sheer ignorance I've encountered from Americans. It used to blow my mind but I'm used to it now.
damn forgot how fat that s*** is….
I’ll peep the music later
Why y'all always gotta say s*** like this? SMH.
The song is actually amazing tbh
Haven't really given the second single a few spins yet

Yeah she thick as a BULL

I agree, I was more talking from the angle of him finding the one rapper he wants to mentor and that can see eye to eye to him from a skill/artistry/potential perspective - not taking into account the commerial side and superstar angle in the us market. Not sure if he even neccesssarily wants that last part for someone he is mentoring unless it happens organically. But the way they talk about each other and how Drake praised him at his recent show, you can tell Dave is not just a rapper he is biggin up/cool with/collabing with. And the way Drakes career has gone it sould even make sense for his protege to not be from the us or in the us market originally.
When it comes to the lack of collabs between the two, I really feel like there's something deeper that we don't know yet. The way the Naomi signing has been in works for years, makes me look at that situation differently too. I would really love a collab album. Feel like Dave could actually match Drake on album length and bring his own angle. But maybe that's for another thread.

Hoping a lot of this ovo sound dropping all year will involve direct work from 40. Love the the angle they took on another life and wasn't even familiar with Naomi's music like/unsure whether I'd like. But this track sounding really special and worthy to be on ovo.
