I still have 0 faith in this lol

Would love to be proven wrong tho.

If they're gonna do it, then like others said, f*** an origin and just jump into the land of waves arc and use tasteful flashbacks to work as the backstory

i mean, idk how they could possibly make this without doing an origin story.

Yes, Naruto is massive. But it hasnt had a live action theatrical release at all. It sorta NEEDS to do the origin for movie goers who arent familiar with Naruto.

Spider-Man, Superman, and Batman can get away with skipping origins because their origins have been told in film, and other media, many times already. Literally everybody on the Planet knows their origin.

The biggest problem a lot of anime film adaptations have is that they choose to adapt from chapter 1 of the manga.

But this restricts you since you have a time constraint with a movie and not a lot of exciting or "movie material" stuff happens in the very beginning of the manga so this results in rushing through s*** to get to the "good parts" which ends up being a bad movie.

Naruto can get away without doing an origin story by starting with the Land of Waves arc, its exciting enough to make a movie about but also still very early in the story to introduce characters like an origin would.

Just use relevant flashbacks (9 tails attacking konoha, iruka saving naruto, bell exam) sequenced in between the story and also use dialouge to give the audience a feel of who these characters are and it should work

I think the best way to approach it is to approach it similarly to a good superhero film.

Instead of trying to adapt the manga directly, make an original thing with elements from the manga.

There isn't a single Spider-Man movie that is a 1to1 adaptation of any specific comic story. But They take elements from stories and characters to make a unique story.
idk how they'll tackle that. But i think that approach is the best approach for success.

  • Shin Chan

    Tom Holland as Naruto
    Timothee Chalamet as Sasuke
    Zendaya as Sakura

I still stand by this casting and I will NOT support this movie if they are not cast 💯

Yeah I could see that being an option too. I do think it would be a much harder thing to do with an anime/manga than a comic, because there's limited room to do that. A character like spider man has many different variations of storylines to take from. While Naruto is just a story from beginning to end

Has anybody thought of what material you would cover if you were doing a Naruto movie & only have ~2hrs of time

One Piece live action had a ~$145m budget but it also had 8 near hour long episodes apparently (i ain't watch it)

They're gonna have to go off script a bit & skip stuff etc. Maybe he already knows Jiraiya by the time the film starts, montages/mini timeskips

Then again would the story even feel right if they made Land Of Waves a montage

Even One Piece condensed arcs while also adding original things and forcing scenes from later s*** to happen sooner. There's no time or regard for the smaller things in these blockbuster adaptations
