disagree the only 11 is smile there is no album in history of mankind and any culture of any dead or living human being or countries or generations or even prehistoric time that comes close to it even THE GREATEST recorded piece of art YOU CAN THINK OF touches AT VERY MAXIMUM BEST the toes of what smile is

gary usher (brian wilsons collaborator for lyrics in the early days - he for example did the lyrics for lonely sea or in my room) project, it was gonna be a solo album but he brought someone else in it to finalize it and make a great forgotten 1968 record that’s very much in the likes of pet sounds era style

brown eyed girl is definitely a cursed song

anyways he started in a s***kicking little Irish band that was good enough ride the british invasion... started out quite a bit like the stones in '64 but had transcended to a mystical celtic gypsy realm by '68 pretty steep progression here;

ive heard Iggy Pop call this his favourite song of all time and it is gnarly;

but the transitioned from hard ass garage into his magical folk-jazz brew pretty quick and these are stunners

after that he did Brown Eyed Girl during the sessions that did actually move his art closer toward his masterpiece but it became the monster hit that he immediately regretted and he said "took him to the worst places"

then he did Astral Weeks when he was at his lowest and brokest Forever Changes tier once youve let it sink in
