This take is so weird to me, go back to the most famous comedians and they always got political . Richard Pryor talked about black people getting shot all the time and other troubles the community was going through. Why when it’s this other community every joke is an attack
Is Dave transgender?
Is Dave transgender?
Have you ever heard of scoring on people who can’t take a joke
I miss when Dave wasn’t a ludicrously wealthy, out of touch bigot actively spiting queer people and using his platform to enable casual transphobia. I miss when my life wasn’t constantly treated as debatable.
Respectfully.. when has Dave not been like this and when has transgender identity ever not been debated
Is Dave transgender?
Carlin talked about using the N word and straight up called Eddie Murphy and Richard N words and got a applauded for how he did it by an audience (who were probably mostly white
)

He made some jokes about trans people and said they care more about their feelings than black folks dying (which is true and this whole controversy is proving it) and now mfs got their panties in a bunch.
Sensitive ass b****es
Black trans people exist...
Dave really made y'all believe trans people are a monolith to whom he attached his negative feelings for white people to... And y'all defend it without having done any research on the trans community just cuz he said and validated your own negative thoughts (this is how bigots are created btw)
Trans people were the first in line to fight cops in the 60s for lgbtq liberation - historically they're not a group of people that "DoeSnT CaRe"
Black trans folk exist who def care about black people dying
Non black trans folk exist who care as well
This is just a bs take tbh
, we can't s*** on everyone under the guise of "they don't care about black people dying so f*** them", immature reaction which does nothing to solve black people's issues
Y'all are messed up fr fr
Have you ever heard of scoring on people who can’t take a joke
Dave is not transgender. That's the answer
Pryor was black and spoke from his experience as a black person
Dave isn't transgender and attributed his negative feelings for white people to trans folk cuz they don't like his jokes
The fact that y'all defend his bit as being "true" or "social commentary" just shows what y'all think of transgender people, that's it

I've never laughed at a George Carlin joke
He construct his "jokes" very well tho imo and makes good points
This bit also didn't make me laugh and I disagree, the nword is a problem in and of itself (it was created to be a racial slur so...)
Context does matter tho, always
White people will never be in the proper context to call someone an nword imo
I don't think that makes gC racist, he was just being edgy to prove a point (context matters)
One of these days we need to have a convo about how Carlin made the most obvious statements sound revolutionary and how his fans eat that s*** up like he was some new age Aristotle

The idolization of him by certain kinds of people is definitely strange and raised questions about their intentions

Bruh we 🤷🏾♂️ don’t care, it’s jokes. I found the special funny and didn’t see any hate so we won’t agree.
What I hate the most about this entire situation is there is a genuine discussion to be had with some of the points Dave brought up but unfortunately his good points are in the mix of a lot of ignorance and trans/homophobia. People are definitely just using this situation to fuel the whole thing about “cancel culture” and that’s annoying too. Also to let out a lot of transphobia too.
Pretty big difference between sketches about white people or black people or whatever and releasing two whole specials basically just talking about trans people lol
It’s weird. Im a fan
Even above all this the s*** just wasnt funny
the last one made me laugh atleast
Uh I don’t buy that lol, but whatever.
If you don’t find it funny then that’s a separate issue imo. They’re plenty people including myself who did. It’s not his best special by any means, but I was still laughing.
remember chapelle is the biggest snowflake of them all

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say

What specifically are you classing as transphobic & homophobic in regards to what Dave has said?

I guess my issue with takes like these is what is the distinction in these specials or more specifically these bits about the lgbtq community that makes it hateful, as oppose to when he makes fun of other groups? Like Chappelle Show frequently had crackheads as the butt of many jokes. Maybe there was some outcry from people who deal with addiction, but I’m not aware of it, and nonetheless it never reached this level of push back.

Lol when have you known a Chappelle that wasn't extremely wealthy or that wasn't offensive to people
You're just mad because before he attacked other people, now he attacked your people lol

Pryor was also bi which explains all the d*** sucking jokes
F*** them, but they produced the show and edited it, so they knew already what he was talking about and still approved it.
Expecting them to take it off now after the backlash probably wasn't gonna happen.
Plus this isnt his first time, and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix finds these reactions as "free promotion" to the show.
Listen, Dave Chappelle can say what he wants about the whole cancel culture thing and rah rah rah old man yelling at cloud.
But no matter how you slice it, Netflix is wack as f*** for this. They wanna throw on their rainbow suit every pride month and load their social media and service with a ton of LGBTQ films and television, fake the funk as if they're really in support of the LGBTQ, but then you fire a trans employee because they rightfully vented their frustration with Dave's boldly transphobic remarks?
Like we know all companies care about is money, but it's just something like this that makes me look at Netflix horribly because they handled this horribly.
All imma say about Chappelle is that it's so disappointing basically seeing him become the kinda person he would often make fun in his previous stand up and show.
Man really is just acting like an out of touch and grouchy old white guy.

You making no sense bruh

I feel this way when he talks about cancel culture. Thought his first Netflix special handled it nicely. But I can understand why it bothers him since he explained it. People constantly approaching him in bad faith trying to get a gotcha moment while recording it on their phone to go viral.

The man himself said he is a proud TERF...

This is all true. We know DAMN WELL Chapelle would be long gone and shamed by Netflix if he was just some random comedian with mediocre numbers.
