I literally just finished this scene and that episode.
I thought the same about his entire existence on the show. he came out of nowhere and is bipolar which is such an easy writing device to have them mess stuff up and create plot lines
But that last scene of her in the car as she’s realising that she’s actually getting family members killed because of these years in the ozarks and what she has become is really good imo
him and his problems were mentioned in season 1

i agree. writing an insane character is easy because he doesn’t have to make sense.
why couldn’t wendy just follow the knoxville plan? no one knew how he got out of the mental hospital. she could have dropped him off and played dumb. they made wendy kill him to have the inner family conflict with the son
You think too highly of teachers bud. Some can be a real piece of work
lmao facts but how crazy this guy ended up was shocking to me. he was like a toddler

I do remember that but I still felt INITIALLY that having him be at the centre of so many episodes when there was FBI and Nevaro stuff happening felt odd but as soon as he was killed I knew why he was here the whole time and the implications that moment had on Wendy and how it was important for the season methodically, especially after she was getting so zealous after the end of season 2

Yeah near the end it was like a whole different person, it’s wild what medication does lol
I swear whenever someone yells at Marty or be mean to him he just shuts the f*** up and makes this face LMAOO he always so non Chalant and calm.
in both the new seasons of ozark and westworld there are scenes where a female character literally points a gun at a males private and shoots them. i once watched vice squad and it began with a pimp raping a woman with a coat hanger until she died. i had to turn it off. don’t know how these kind of scenes are so popular and acceptable

not even just getting family members killed, she had to give up on ben. it's putting your dog down as opposed to your dog getting ran over cause you live on a busy street. he's more dangerous than the situation

you don't think ben would come back after getting dropped off? he wasn't gunna stay put or quiet and his hate for meds would've drove him loose. matter fact he didn't even call ruth once. if he's looking to escape and stay quiet he would call ruth and go(your idea) but instead he calls helen and wants to make up(bad idea). like if he showed any sign of trust to wendy he would've lived but he could not stop f***ing up.

true he probably would have got killed regardless. but its just the idea of wendy offering up her bro on a silver platter that i can’t get my head around. his death was likely, but not %100 guarenteed. i’m thinking why not just follow the OG plan and drop him in knoxville instead of directly killing all of his chances
just listened to a podcast with Bateman and one of the writers (?), and apparently for the closing scene they had a Kanye song in mind for every cut of it, but it wasn't approved because of the religious wave. Wonder what the song was
Finished s3. Its SOOOO much better than s2. Ben is the MVP of the season. His character stole damn near every scene
Helen getting murked had me shook as f***
Wendy is trash. Big trash. F*** det b****.
They gotta let my baby Ruth catch some Ws cus ever since the show started she been taking BIG L's
They been doing Sam even dirtier lol nigga been going out sad since day 1. Anyway I need S4 immediately. S3 redeemed the show from S2's mistakes.
