I mean max was beautifully written up until that point and they did a good job at directing the payoff and connecting the emotional strings from prior seasons. It accumulated into a great overall scene for people . It wasn't simply just because she “escaped”

I’ve just seen people claim it’s the single best episode of ST. I’m not saying it was subpar, but It doesn’t warrant “best episode of the series” status

Just catching up now. Why do they make white teens in the 80s so cartoonishly evil, this s*** is straight comedy.

Thats kind of the point? Those sports team highschool bullies are cliche but thats part of the charme

Actually lot of the dialogues, jokes, love interests in this are so corny, but somehow the amazing storytelling, music and the overall vibe elevates this for me to one of my favourite shows of all time. I kinda understand why they make these over the top interactions, they need to sell these to younger audiences too.
