NujaThe world is over as we knew it. It only gets worse from here. There is no hope. We are heading towards another Great Depression. Gangs have no structure anymore destroying lower income environments. Racism has always been alive and well but it’s only going to get worse. Civil war is looming. World war is looming. Prices are unlivable. It’s not the end times but it’s the end times for us. This is no rapture but the end of everything as we know it. A lot of us won’t survive what’s to come. Those of us who do will wish we hadn’t. Hellfire will rain down on the earth as democracy is fully exposed as a facade and true dictatorship takes over the land. The world will spin into chaos. No more listening to Kanye west or keeping up with the Kardashians. Finding a PS5 will be the least of anyone’s problems. It will now be about survival. Surviving poverty on top of a virus. The earth has been forsaken. What did we do to deserve this. I just hope there isn’t more hell in the next life. Seek God

Don't you feel like at this point instead of mitigating the spread of the virus we should now prioritize mitigating the effects of it
Its spread so far and mutated so much that trying to control spread it is out of our control
How now that we have the vaccines there is something we can control: how it effects people
If we focused vaccinations and only focus on hospitalizations/deaths to track progress we'd have a better understanding of things

But covid restrictions are mostly based on hospitalisations tho
Somebody brought up the Netherlands having a lockdown despite being like 90% vaccinated, and that's bc the ICUs are getting too full with covid patients (mind you 70% of these covid patients in ICUs are still unvaxed despite being only 10% of the population)
So the lockdown isn't based on infections but like you suggested, how it affects people
But what's even more important than this is that we get the third world to also get the vax, because both the delta variant and omicron came from countries in the global south where the population had very little access to vaccines
This could have been less of a problem if we weren't so strict with the IP of the vax, but oh well

That’s what scientists are currently doing, hence the Pfizer pills.
We have to slow the spread in order to prevent further mutations and to avoid overwhelming hospitals. We’re buying time.
It’s not to stamp the virus out entirely, it’s too late for that.

There's no actual end point here lol, european healthcare systems don't have the capacity to deal with covid at all so it'll be seasonal lockdowns until a dominant strain comes out that's weak enough lol
