Punisher's a perfect album and I was discounting this one after the single and I was wrong

This thing is pretty unbelievable. Some deep cuts and album cuts on punisher that are hard to top for me but it’s too early to say if this album does or doesn’t do it.

So many amazing sounds on it. I love that Caroline Shaw is all over this just wobbling a bunch of weird beautiful vocal harmonies and doing her thing in the background

She went Loretta Lynn mode on Haunted

2:16 on liberty bell. Real music. That digital hiss noise and the opera Kanye wolves ass vocal in the back.

Pretty solid off just one listen so far. It feels a bit meandering at times, they probably could have cut 4 songs or so. I dig it though.

Sticking 3 shorter, looser, interstitial type songs back to back before the final stretch had me feeling the same thing

You get 3 shorter ones with never going back, other plans and lost parade and it kinda hiccups the momentum. Especially since you’re right back to the same kinda mode/tone but just on longer, slow burn songs after it

Loses a bit of steam in the middle and I feel like it uses the standard folk pop song with ambient/electronic noodling outro trick maybe one too many times. But there's some gorgeous stuff here

I reached Phoebe Bridgers saturation point a few years ago when she was f***ing everywhere and didn't enjoy the boygenius album much. Didn't think much of Lost Boys when it came out either. So pleasantly surprised by how much of this I dig after a couple of listens

yeah this is my issue. Cut those 3, put Best Dressed right before Bobby, and this would be a lot tighter imo.

I was still thinking Punisher was kinda a fluke after The Record was so samey and meandering (esp after seeing Jack was being added to the production team lmaoo) so very happy by how much she's experimenting on this.
