    The only reason the Big 3 got given that name is because they did that. Every artist who’s come afterwards is compared rightly or wrongly to them and the conversation is always who are the next Big 3.
    Someone waiting 5 years to drop a second album is not a leader

    In the span of 5 years Kendrick dropped everything from KLEP to GKMC, Drake dropped SFG to NWTS, Cole dropped The Warm Up to Born Sinner.

    This new generation are not the same.

    I agree.

    Another issue is these new guys can drop an amazing album and there is no system in place for progression afterward.

    I personally think MIKE’s Burning Desire is one of the best hip hop albums of the last 5 years. An album like that should lead to a signing, budget and at least a some artist development but in today’s climate it’s just another album, nothing happens afterward just more projects and touring.

    It’s like artists either delay themselves into obsolescence or dump projects into over-saturation with little to no progression now
