Yeah it depends how you play Mario...if you play it just to beat the story (which is the same story over and over again) then yeah the game isn’t that satisfying.

If you go to collect moons that’s when the real fun begins. You unlock more worlds that are more challenging as well.

You’re cheating yourself by just playing the story then quitting.

I just reached to 500 moons and had the game for 2 years at least, Odyssey is a game I still turn on to this day and play.

i just didn't enjoy 90% the moons during the story and the thought of going and collecting more doesnt appeal to me at all rn

I can see that because the story mode is pretty easy. I think Nintendo wants to you to go past the story and explore the game. The story hasn’t changed so it doesn’t make much sense for Nintendo to put all the eggs into that basket. Mario since 64 imo have been designed for completionist.

the story is just an excuse to create some themed connection between the linear playthrough of all the worlds

Smash has sold more than Splatoon, however I know a bunch of folks who play Brawlhalla over Smash because of a better online experience.

I think Splatoon is better for online multiplayer than Smash.

Oh lol, it’s a perfect alternative to online shooters on Sony/Xbox. If you want a competitive environment and don’t want to deal with all the nonsense with voice chat I’ll highly suggest it.
