5 was my start on the resident evil series personally, i didn't grow up on the RE series, funny part was i had a ps1 as a kid and had never gotten it just alternated between spyro, starwars, and megaman x4 back then.

started when i had copped a 360 back then and backtracked my way since and played out of order my personal favorites from the RE series was 5, Revelations 2, and 3: Nemesis.

they're good games but don't compare to Okami, AC Rogue or Spyro 2 and 3

thing about Spyro is that the first game is long and repetitive, i burned out by game 2 but that's where the series gets good..lol
