Speaking on today's new rumors about a new Switch model coming 2021: Y'all know how Nintendo have had issues re-stocking the Switch in some countries this year? North America in specific, which is their biggest market alongside Japan. Perhaps this is due to the fact that they may be planning to release a new model of the Switch soon and would rather have people go for the new model next year than to buy the old model this year. Could also be an explanation why there's been a lack of game releases this year. Nothing big so far besides Animal Crossing which dropped in March. They saving stuff for 2021 to drop with the newer model.

this seems likely
BOTW came out with the first Switch
what are the chances BOTW2 comes out with the upgrade?
my prediction:
Switch PRO 2021 model
BOTW2 running 1080p @ 60fps docked
also running 720p @ 60fps handheld
will be available Q2 of 2021 but was probably originally going to be slated for March 2021 to mark the anniversary of the first game and console release
choose not to upgrade?
same as BOTW running 900p @ 30fps docked
and in certain areas of the game down to 20fps
Yeah that’s why the #1 selling console is the ps4 which runs games at 4k 30fps?
Seriously are you even trying to make sense?
bro you know the masses that buy consoles are tech illiterate and know nothing about the inner workings that produce their system and games, no s*** they're gonna play whatever game at whatever framerate cause they don't know better.

No I agree 60 FPS is better I’m just saying it makes sense for Nintendo to do 4k 30fps because it’s what everyone does. I’m not saying I want that or that it’s preferable, just that it makes sense as a business move to make a console that’s compatible with 4k TVs because a huge amount of people have been buying 4k TVs over the past 3-4 years
Lol i dont think the new switch will run games @ 1080p 60fps, that's just wishful thinking imo, its nintendo we're talking about

1080p sure but I doubt we'll get 60FPS. Not even Sony and Microsoft done pulled off a 60FPS open world adventure game on console that I can recount (could be wrong, not too invested in Sony and MS).
If there's a revision to the Switch next year then I think the improvements will be slight but noticeable. Like better textures and resolution. Doubt they will bump up 30FPS games to 60FPS. More likely just make the 30FPS games more stable, making games run smoother without as many hiccups and FPS drops.
Please god. Tired of dropping frames in games like a motherfucker. Can we also get a dock that has a built in Ethernet adaptor please?
nintendo skimping out on the ethernet adapter for their home consoles is so annoying.
the only open world Switch game pushing 60fps @ 1080p
is f***ing MINECRAFT
man even ps4 doesn't have 60fps gta v.
take your joy cons off your swtich and put it on top of your ps4 to see the diff.

yeah but the PS5 and XSX will do 4K and 60fps standard
if the Switch wants to stand its ground then BOTW2 and MP4 and Bayo3 and New Pokemon Snap all need 1080p @ 60fps
otherwise people with a Switch right now wont upgrade just for 4K @ 30fps

im lowkey highley expecting gta v to still be 30fps if they go 4k but ill wait to be proven wrong.

GTA V is 4K @ 30fps on PS4 Pro though
ur saying GTA V will be same on PS5?
i just dont have any expectation for nintendo have bleeding edge tech and i never have. their games draw me in simple as that.
i have a ps4 as well have have no problem going back and forth. plus nintendo focuses more on gameplay than pretty cutscenes.
also splatoon is actually one of the prettiest games this gen

on ps4 pro it's probably supersampled so if they go native 4k on ps5 than yea i still think 30fps. if they super sample it for ps5 than i can see 60fps

I'd cop an upgrade for 60 fps but like y'all have been saying, wishful thinking. We probably not getting 4K til next gen.

!!!!!
BOTW2 and MP4 need 60fps
botw 2 probably wont be because it's open world. i dont doubt Platinum will try to target 60 for their star franchise. plus it's a pretty linear game so they can pull stuff off.
Honestly, I have no plans to cop the new switch
I'm getting the PS5 this year, that'll do in combination with my "older" switch

I have ALL plans to cop a new Switch IF it helps run 3rd party games better. I have no problem with first party games. Fortnite is the third party game I play the most, and out of all devices on planet earth, Fortnite is struggling the most on Switch. If it runs better and looks a lil better on the next model then that's enough for me to upgrade.

I wonder what transferring data would be like, thats the only thing holding me up tbh

Meh, I'll just be using switch for the 1st party games
3rd party support has been ass for the Switch honestly
