Nice man! For me it was the N64 version. I think I was around 5 or 6 years old when it released. Got it on Christmas. Back then I was horrible at it and could only beat the first dungeon (The Deku Tree) as Young Link. I don't think I beat the full game until I was near my teenage years. I revisited the game when I was 12 and finally made progress past the first dungeon, eventually beating the whole game soon after. I bought the 3DS version as well back when it came and man what a great port that was. Felt like a new game because it looked and played so fresh and so clean.
OoT was the Zelda game that defined my childhood
BotW was the Zelda game that defined my inner child as an adult
Only BotW was able to draw me back to how I felt when I was playing OoT as a little kid.

I wasnt even born when oot came out first time so i could only play that version on wii virtual console, but i still love to this day the n64 aesthetic even tho the game is graphically inferior to the 3ds version. And you're right about botw, i dont think there has been a game that gave me the a bigger feeling of adventure and exploration. I feel like every 3d zelda does something better than the others and that's what makes the series so amazing, besides arguably zelda II every game is unique and amazing on its own

Still my best gaming experience ever

Cool to hear your story dawg. I appreciate all the Zelda games I've played for what they have to offer. Only BotW managed to match OoT levels of amazement though. Have you played TP, WW or MM as well or just OoT, SS and BotW?
Knockout City looking like a day 1 cop tbh. I’ve been wanting a new and fresh online multiplayer. I also appreciate the Switch version releasing at the same time with platforms, no waiting a year later for this one

Ive played every single zelda but the cdi games for obvious reasons
If i had to rank them it would be something like this:
The only game i dont like is zelda II, but i like/love the rest

Zamnnnnnnn zadddyy you've played more Zelda games than me
I've played (and by played, I mean at least to the extent where I have completed the main game) - not in order of rank. If I had to rank them then it would be BotW on top followed by Ocarina of Time. Can't really make my mind up about the rest of them.
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
The Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Breath of the Wild
Spirit Tracks
A Link Between Worlds
Now I have touched on some of the NES/SNES games but only for a few minutes so I don't really count them. Hard for me to play games that came before the N64.

Im happy you played a link between worlds, that's an underrated gem that more people should play
I see where you're coming from, i also have friends who cant get into retro games. Im a big fan of the snes era so i can't relate lol, i have 40+ hours on the snes app

Wind Waker behind Skyward Sword
Wind Waker behind Skyward Sword
I love Wind Waker a ton, but i cant say that i enjoyed ww's dungeons as much as the others in the series, abd they're also too few. And i cannot forget that the triforce hunt didnt get boring at times. With that being said, ww and ss are extremely close in my ranking, cause i love ww's characters, exploration, art style, music and combat system

Yes you are

Happy Birthday to my life long favourite franchise
struggling to play Adventures Of Link with my dad's best friend is one of my earliest memories tbh
then my best friend (still top 3 friend to this day) in grade 7 lending me his golden Ocarina cartridge felt like I had been gifted the holy grail
had Majora's Mask on preorder when it came out
remember instantly dropping my new copy of Electronic Gaming Monthly in a puddle out of excitement when I opened the page to the nearly flawless Wind Waker review
been a long road with my dude Link

Maybe the dungeons aren't as good but literal every other aspect is dramatically more enjoyable than SS for me
