Games already run at 1080p60 and then downgrade to 720p30 so the same thing will happen with the new handheld but it’ll be 4k or 720p OLED so both will look great

i feel like youre just ignoring a lot of different factors

how could you possibly make the Switch the same size or close to it with Xbox One X specs? If ur gonna say theres tech in the dock then how is it going to run these crazy games in handheld

how could you possibly keep this device at 4-6+ battery life with the specs you are talking about?

we already know the current switch's power is capped in handheld to prevent overheating and keep the battery life good so how is this new device not going to melt in your hands or have 2 hour battery life

if it has Xbox One X specs it can run games at NATIVE 4K 30. NOT even talking DLSS. and were talking Nintendo games meaning it might be able to do NATIVE 4K 60 with Xbox One X specs depending on games.

yeah but the games are gonna be Mario 3d world and Kirby and s*** not halo infinite or gears of war

remember even Witcher 3 Nintendo version looks nowhere near as good as the Xbox or PlayStation versions. The games won’t look as good in terms of graphical fidelity but yeah in terms of resolution they’ll be 4k

if you play on pc you know games have all sorts of graphical settings that can be turned down in order to get solid FPS, the same will work when you undock your system, the games won’t look as good but because they’re on a small 720p screen it’s harder to notice the quality is lower

But it’ll run at low res and low power and I bet they have a much better cooling system in the new one to help

Even the dock itself may have better cooling

It could definitely run Mario 3D World at Native 4k60

Youre expecting this switch to have better processors and such than an Xbox One X naturally due to advancement in tech and it WILL have DLSS.

DLSS is much less demanding than running native and can produce an image that is almost as good as and sometimes just as good as native.

SO what youre telling me is that this console might be able to run Mario 3D World at 4K120 DLSS by rendering the game at 720p and upscaling to 4K?????

I was making the point that it’s not that surprising that in 2021/2022 they’re releasing a console that has the power of a 4-5 year old console that wasn’t even bleeding edge or the top of the top in 2017

As far as 2017 forza, Yeah I guess it could run a 5 year old version of forza, but is that really impressive in 2021-2022? The new forza is way more advanced and switch pro won’t be able to play anything near that in 4k without turning down the graphical fidelity and probably a low FPS like 30 or something. Graphically simple games like zelda and Mario will easily play in 4k60 though, is my point.

Remember the system turns down the power it knows when it’s handheld or docked. While docked switch pro will run games similar to a 4-5 year old console, yes.

ps4 and switch docked both play games at 1080p 30fps, so they’re actually comparable

Also because they’re not building a whole new console they can just focus on increasing power and resolution

Well the Bloomberg article said it’s 4k while docked so it’s gonna need a more powerful chip and my point was it’s not surprising or unbelievable if it’s as powerful as a 4-5 year old console
