we can’t say for sure, it’s plausible it launches late 2021 or early-mid 2022
so when would they first advertise it?
it is confirmed not in the E3 docket
it must be coming March 2022 with a 5 year anniversary celebration looking back at the launch and every big title

could be announced closer to launch due to shortages effecting how they make projections, the industry is in a weird place right now
also if this is just a new model then our only other basis for timeline should be switch lite which was unveiled early July and dropped in late September
Based on that, it would make sense to announce this thing in august or September if their release date is holiday 2021, but I personally wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo shocked everyone by debuting it next month around e3

how we can know is; if E3 shows that we don't get BOTW2 in December we aren't getting a new Switch model because almost everybody in the world knows they'll launch together

You’re right and based on what aonuma said in February it’s pretty obvious we’re getting a bigger look and most likely a release date for botw2 very soon, so I guess we’ll know then.
Where our man @Bliss at
Bliss probably outside the Nintendo offices protesting about Smash Melee

But I thought that was forgiven when Sephiroth dropped
Very very interesting that they announced that new Pokémon game dropping in January
and the Metroid news...
seems like a switch pro could be out in December?

then with BOTW2 in December would they really try and sell 2 Pokemon games on each side?
or would they sell the new model without any games to try it on until Legends in January?
If that's true yall botw2 2022 believers gonna look funny
because we want them to have both the max amount of time AND perfect amount of marketing room for the game which may get swallowed up by Xbox and Sony hype plus 2 different Pokemon games for $89.99 each one month before and after December? that's pretty wild tbh

Id agree with you if botw didnt explode and made the franchise a potential 20 million seller. Zelda botw along with god of war ragnarok are the most anticipated games by far, and switch despite ps5 and xsx releasing hasnt stopped selling like hotcakes, neither its games (mario 3d world and mh rise are doing fantastic). Id argue xsx and ps5 would be more of a problem in 2022 when demand will start to be met cause by the end of 2021 supply still wont keep up. Thats my 2 cents tho, im prepared for all the DrakeLs yall gonna send me if it does indeed release in 2022
because of Pokémon 35 and Zelda 35 we’re expecting a lot more announcements and releases than usual
the reason it’s interesting that the games are both coming close to each other is that they’re cramming the holiday season with releases, as if preparing for a big hardware drop

You smoking that stardust if you think BOTW2 dropping in 2021 bruh
