Not a R&B guy (mainly rap and Afrobeats), but want to listen to healthy R&B music about relationships to make a me a better man.
any recommendations on good R&B albums about good, healthy love (from the guy's perspective and woman's perspective)
Charlene aint positive dawg what
he said non-toxic not non-"negative"
charlene is literally about him dealing with his consequences and reflecting on how he could have been a better man
op wants substance rnb music not sneaky link or toxic hating n blaming rnb music

If she left doesnt that defeat the purpose i feel?
I dont know about entire albums centered around a healthy relationship ( think the best R&B substance albums explore different topics from a non toxic standpoint, which @Water_Giver is right about)
Like even Dijon has “Rewind” that is highkey pretty sad talking bout the flaws/negative parts of his and his wife’s personalities could rub off on their child.
But songs is much more easier @op

part of healthy love is realizing your mistakes and reflecting
it is healthy he is introspecting and isnt blaming her

that part mixed with your part makes charlene valid - its a mature song from a mature album that goes through many emotions and phases of acceptance and bettering yourself overall with that AH, its mostly an accountability album

Pretty pro-man album to the point she threatened to fight her man’s ex (that’s real love for a shawty from Philly imo)
Ironically, r&b by nature is toxic.
I dont need my r&b albums to be 100% positive/go happy. I do need folks to write from a non toxic point of view tho.
