All three were life soundtracks for me when they dropped. But I’d have to say Yeezus by a mile. Again though, I’m in the minority that really enjoyed Born Sinner and all my friends liked it too.

Yeezus by far but it was also the beginning of the end tbh

After Yeezus felt like everything after was just a victory lap in terms of music

He definitely started to think different about music after Yeezus. Most people say it’s because of fashion and fatherhood but…

He said multiple times that Yeezus was his first album that he was completely happy with releasing it how it is. He also said multiple times (even during JIK era) that Yeezus is his best album personally

I just think he wanted to “free” himself of creating blockbusters and classics. TLOP is a classic for me tho because it feels like a victory lap and you have almost every Ye style on this album

IMO MBDTF doesn't sound like his previous albums at all

It's a very unique high-luxury sound. I can't really name any albums that fit that kind of theme. Maybe Teflon Don

It's high-luxury but it mixes a lot of elements.

Power / All Of The Lights has the big stadium sound of Graduation.
Lost In The World and Runaway bring in the cold, moody somberness of 808s, with songs like Hell Of A Life embodying that projects more experimental and abrasive sounds.
Devil In A New Dress of course brings back the soul samples of something like TCD.
Gorgeous and Dark Fantasy both remind me of the orchestral elements in Late Registration.

2023 and people still have the gall to slander TLOP

If he didn't drop FHD after I would say that Born Sinner is my favorite Cole album. Songs like Rich Niggaz, Land of Snakes, Trouble, Born Sinner, and Crooked Smile just hit on a deep level.

That album holds a certain level of comfort for me. I totally get what you mean.

The fact that Yeezus is like 10 songs and you named about 1/2 the tracklist as highlights really does speak to it's staying power. That's why I don't believe in this instant "classic or trash" mindset we got. Yeezus was too abrasive for 2013 mainstream music, but it hits now lol

That’s what I’m saying! lmao as I wrote the songs I was like I really could keep going. Only song I’d omit is Send It Up but even then that songs still knocks to me personally. Objectively the album is a 9/10

  • Jun 18, 2023

Yeezus then Mac. Keep the Cole

  • Jun 18, 2023

I honestly rate all three around the same. Each artist has albums I like more but I really enjoy and appreciate these three entries

  • Yeezus easily

Born sinner is so bad and I was a fan of Cole in those days. Man has improved in rapping but it's still not interesting music to me

Truly crazy how Kanye's music fell off a f***in cliff after Yeezus while Cole and Mac went on to get better

idk why people are so mad at this lmfaoooo this is almost objectively true atp

    Kanye post yeezus:
    TLOP
    Ye
    KSG
    JIK
    Donda
    Donda 2

    Mac post WM:
    Faces
    GO:OD AM
    Divine Feminine
    Swimming
    Circles

    Cole post BS:
    2014 FHD
    4YEO
    KOD
    Off Season

Mac and Cole’s output is 100000% better than Ye’s when it’s laid out like that
