was arguing with my dad about TLJ Luke and all he could really use as a argument was that he felt “it wasn’t Luke Skywalker”

I even asked him what he would have done to make a engaging narrative & good conflict with Luke in the trilogy and he couldn’t answer

Def the best thing to come out of these SW shows tbh

and nobody can deny his knives out movie was stellar.

and supposedly the Rian SW trilogy is still gonna happen. cant wait for the goat trilogy to soon come

Luke was always headstrong and reactionary in every single movie. He always had to fight with that struggle . And TLJ beautiful showed him learn from it

I am always baffled because i would ask the same question to people who don’t like his arc in TLJ and they’d just reply as if Luke is suppose to be a static character by this point that acts like the cold hollow boring fulfilled Jedi in The Mandalorian SZN 2 finale

Tbh I did walk away from that movie liking it alot and being surprised at the strong negative reactions.

I think star wars fans just hate everything.

feel like a lot of the nerds gon hold resentment so even if his trilogy is goat material they’ll knock it anyway hopefully that won’t be the case but wouldn’t be surprised if it was

I remember watching it opening night and then coming out of it thinking “damn this the one, everyone has to love this” I was stunned by how much i dug it

Then i was even more stunned by the vitriolic reactions i saw the next day

It's okay imo it could've been shot better. Also thought the scene where obi wan is throwing a s*** ton of boulders while doing a t-pose was ridiculous. The cracked mask scene was legit heat tho i'll deadass rewatch the entire eps just to see that again.

things i would have changed to make TLJ better personally

1. Killing off Leia then and there, Kylo couldn’t press the button to kill his mother but his other fighters did… afterward have a scene where Kylo chokes out the f***er who killed her (as Vader would have)

2. Minimize a bit of the Casino scenes, clean up a bit of the cringe dialogue there and have them focus on not only freeing the animals but the slave kids as well as a part of the resistance.

3. find a way to clear up the massive miscommunication Poe and Holdo have with each other in a effective manner that leaves the general audience empathizing and understanding Holdo’s decisions even clearer. I understood her perspective but it seems a lot people are dip s***s that need things a little more communicated then what it was.

I don’t think there’s much more i would change if anything at all beyond these three things
