Doesn't this lowkey retcon Luke & Obi Wan's first encounter ?
Luke on Episode IV looks like a boy that has never been through anything and doesn't know s*** about the force, lightsabers etc... And he doesn't remember ever meeting Ben at all
The whole reva hunting luke thing was wildly unnecessary and definitely teeters on breaking canon
I guess we can chalk it up to luke being young? Its just annoying having to make up s*** because the writers f***ed up lol
okay just finished. this episode was good. not sure if because nostalgia, finale, or because it was just a good episode. but i enjoyed it. made me feel some type of way. which none of the episodes previously did, so that’s a good thing.

Top 5 Duels
5.
the quickest duel of the entire franchise but leaving the one of the biggest impacts as Maul finally finds a little bit of peace and reconciliation with his long time enemy Kenobi, this duel shows the contrast in growth between the two and truly feels like closure to one of the more unique villainous characters we have gotten in the franchise.
4.
had this been the way Ahsoka Tano would have gone out then it would have been one of the most perfect conclusions for her character, not leaving her master Anakin this time and staying with him until her bitter end. This fight has incredible dialogue, action, stakes and sadness within the entire time. “Then you will die braver then most” is one of the most badass Vader lines in the franchise
”i am no Jedi”
I won’t leave you, not this time — then you will die
3.
this duel is so f***ing great, i s*** on the prequels a lot but man this is literally the best that the prequels has to offer, the emotional weight of this duel is insane, the backdrop of the lava, the high ground, anakin’s ”I HATE YOU”
The choreography of the fight is super f***ing sick as well, a tad too long for my taste which is why it isn’t higher but god damn was this a duel
2.
this is what a f***ing Jedi truly is a man who steps up to the plate, takes responsibility for his actions that contributed to Kylo Ren’s rise, apologies but stands firm and saves his friends, family and the resistance in the most peaceful means possible with one of the most powerful utilizations of the force ever done in a SW film period, KYLO full of anger, loathing, self loathing, too distracted to see that this is a illusion of a man he once held in such high regards… a man who betrayed him deeply, a hurt soul taking his rage out in any means he can… only to realize he was played like a fool this is cinema, this is Star Wars
1.
It will never be topped, every duel’s goal in the franchise is to at least achieve a fraction of how amazing this duel is… A duel for me is more about the dialogue, the underlying story surrounding the characters within the duel, every cross of the sabers is impactful, every reveal, every intense moment that overwhelms Luke when he realizes how outmatched and how much more there is to his story then he even realizes… every line is iconic, the performances are pitch f***ing perfect, Vader has never been more iconic and menacing then in this fight, this duel. This will never be topped to me, period. It’s perfect Star Wars
Clone wars season 7 maul v Ashoka is goated
pretty good finale. series overall was still mid. definitely several tiers below a Favreau/Filoni production.
I still don't like how getting impaled through the torso means nothing now.

Amazing fight. Don’t know where i would rank it personally

Fav/Filoni literally released the WOAT SW show with boba fett tho unfortunately
Gotta say, they stuck the landing. Tied everything together nicely. I think this was a better show than Boba but clearly not as good as Mando.
Overall I’d say a 7/10 imo
Just finished the episode
It was amazing
Almost flawless finale
And realllyy ties up the loose ends of this show and the OG trilogy
Take out every Reva scene, all the filler, and this is easily a 2 hour movie
Should’ve given this iconic character his own movie
Big facts
This s*** was trash. From Reva getting stabbed and chasing after Luke to the horrible choreographed lightsaber fights. The writing was atrocious and did not make any sense. There are some good elements here and there but overall this was a 6/10. Disney needs to move on and stop using Lucas's trilogy characters. How about some original writing and characters for once.

I liked it. Not sure why many people are down on it. I didn't watch it live, I watched it well after it finished airing so I didn't get any of the weekly reaction. I thought it was somewhat weaker than Mando but in the same league. Definitely better than Obi Wan to me.
its honestly not TLJ thats the problem, its just that the main star wars story should have ended with vader being redeemed and killing the emperor.
To this day the fact that the emperor just magically survives ruins all of star wars. But i also get that this is a totally different gripe and is jj abrams fault not RJs haha
For sure. The stories messed up tho because Lucas always wanted to tell the grandchildren side of it. It really should have picked up with the force being in balance because then it would feel fresh again because it’s something we’ve never seen
nah this fight scenes been absolutely goated OBI went bananas. maybe just maybe makes this whole show redeemable
The emotional pay offs in this episode too were just as great as the action

In a new hope Luke always knew who Ben kenobi was . He was the one who suggested the transmission from Leia might have be talking about a relative of him. It doesn’t break canon at all

I don't think getting chased and knocked out would shape his personality traits. I mean I'm not sure he ever even saw Reva - she kinda just threw some rocks at him and he got knocked unconscious, so he didn't see much of anything in terms of her being a jedi. the incident was easy enough to forget.
and yea as someone already mentioned he clearly knew Ben in A New Hope
Just finished 5 & 6
5 was great, Reva was great here & honestly the first episode i liked overall
6 was good too, lightsaber choreography is still horrendous, looks like they’re hauling around 40 pound metal swords
What the hell was Reva’s motivation to travel to tatooine and try to kill luke? And how’d she survive getting a lightsaber near the heart with barely a scratch left on her?
Her storyline/arc/motivations are all over the place and make zero sense, shameful writing, feel bad for the actress she was totally f***ed over
The scenes with Vader’s cracked helmet, young Leia & Obi wan’s goodbye, and Obi meeting Luke nearly made me tear up, powerful stuff
Overall I give the series a 5/10!
Ewan was amazing start to finish, wish he had a better director and show around him. Deborah chow is a top tier bozo

I think reva simply wanted to get payback on vader by killing his son. maybe afterwards she could have delivered the body to him. even though he didn't know about luke yet it would have been a good payback to be like "you have a son, here's his corpse, b****"

wasn't it on the recording she heard?
