I also wanna mention how ATROCIOUS the leia kidnapping scene was. S*** looked like a poorly choreographed youtube skit.
I deadass couldn't believe my eyes.
So, through his talk with the other Jedi obi-wan informs us, the audience, how he has given up on his Jedi ideals (abhorrent decision on the writer's part btw) but despite this he still wishes to be a mentor to Luke!? - major character contradiction, make it make sense. I mean if they were gonna have him "live a normal life" and throw his jedi ideals in the trash they could've at least given him some b****es.
That moment where the cartoony as f*** Reva is INCHES away from murdering Owen, obi-wan just gawks like a fkn idiot. The show even establishes how deraged she is by having her nonchalantly chop a woman's hand in the previous scene. I guess if that other inquisitor hadn't conveniently stepped in, Owen would've been a goner.
Obi-wan in general comes across as pathetic, incompetent, and unlikable.
You basically want him to give up his cover and die

Bruh.. that's not the point. That would only happen in the poorly written scenario the show presents us. Emphasis on the "poorly".
Thread is sad
Bruh I wanted to like the show after the dissapointment that was Boba Fett.
And it's cool if you're enjoying the show. I'm just expressing my feelings.

I don’t understand your point. He’s a shell of his former self in isolation with one goal and that is to make sure Luke is safe. The man is broken. He was under the impression he killed his best friend and all of his colleagues/ally’s are either dead, in hiding or turned on him. Of course he’s not going to be the Obi wan from the prequels, that man died during the purge. If he chose to be the hero he once was and step in during every conflict he would get caught and killed
Do I need to watch any of the Disney Star Wars show before watching this?
No
need more films and shows like Rogue One and Solo.
give me some grit. Stop feeding me this kid s***. This s*** is mid
Bad Batch, Mando, Boba Fett, Now Kenobi.
I definitely feel like this whole 6 episode event will be about protecting kid Leia the whole time
Which makes no sense because of the message Leia gives Kenobi in A New Hope

I mean don’t get me wrong it can add another layer of subtext to the og movie doing this but it’s so f***ing boring.
I don’t give a f*** about kid Leia.
This is the most mundane s***, it’s so f***ing lame. You could set this s*** up in so many other ways to have Kenobi vs Vader rematch be more effectively written and natural

I'm sorry but I don't buy this. The talk Obi-wan and Yoda had in episode 3 heavily contradicts a lot of these points. And listen, it's perfectly reasonable if he's not the same obi-wan. But what the show presents us, is NOT it.
He is still bound by his promise to Yoda, to his ideals. So why the f*** would he tell a FELLOW jedi "the fight is over, we lost" and "the jedi are no more"
A hamfisted pathetic-to-heroic arc makes non sense in this context.

I took what he said as him telling that person to move on, there’s nothing he could do at this stage.
Obi-wan is playing the long game atm.
I love how after 10 YEARS the evil lady suddenly and randomly thought of kidnapping Leia.

Yeah they could just have this as a chase after Kenobi. Or Kenobi looking for the truth since maybe he heard rumours Anakin is still alive. Instead they have Leia. What scares me about this is that they are making Leia so big in this that she may get her own show after
why are the skywalker kids even needed? They could’ve even added Maul in this instead

Wait for the show to end before making criticisms like this tbh.

I didn't. I read it as them trying to do the disgraced hero trope.

That’s what I’m worried about. We’ve already gotten two seasons of “protect and return the kid side quest” in Mandalorian (still a great show though) and it seems like that’s gonna be the main plot of this show

I mean him and yoda clearly set up a plan and he expressed the intent of training Luke.
So that’s not the case

Nah Maul reunion and death was in Rebels
Would have broke canon.

It better not be tbh
