Kenobi: how a Jedi got his mojo back
I feel like I've seen this arc a million times since Goku had to run Snake Way and the last time was Agent Cooper in Twin Peaks Return so they're really gonna have to step it up
The references to Padmae kinda had me in my feelings
Obi Wan lowkey wanna f*** Padme.
Leia asked him if he was her father and he was talking about “I wish I were”
No wonder Vader had to kill him
I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow make this nostalgic bait by making the acolyte a young Palpatine. Wouldn’t be far fetched to say he found a way to stretch his life a couple hundred years. His old Master in the EU was obsessed with that kinda stuff
they really gonna open with the ROTS "Have you ever heard the tale of Darth Plagueis the wise" scene and then slowly fade in to a young Palpatine with the wholeass show being a flashback retelling
I just realized they didn't add any breathing sound effect for Vader during his dialogue scene with Reva
Vaders technique looked sloppy and clunky as f***.
Disney, do better
News flash that is and always has been Vader’s lightsaber technique. Way stronger with the Force than lightsaber combat due to his immobile ass body
Okay can someone explain how that tunnel works?
They, opened it and were headed towards the transport one way. Kenobi stops, goes back. The double agent lady ends up with Kenobi and Vader in time to help escape. after they already showed Third Sister discovering the tunnel. Wouldn't they have ran into each other and Leia should have been ahead of the third sister by a lot?

i guess it’s implied the third sister saw the tunnel and went to the port herself, and i guess shortly after the lady came out to help kenobi

This is false. Vader’s combat style ain’t flashy like Yoda, he prioritizes brute strength rather than finesse. Someone like Yoda uses Ataru lightsaber style, and Vader uses Djem So iirc. It is however horribly depicted in this scene with Obi Wan. Vader/Anakin was still considered like a top 3-5 duelist with a lightsaber in his era.
Lightsaber forms in general have been depicted poorly in all the new films. Lore wise it’s because it’s lost knowledge, but still the choreography has been piss poor

When I tell y’all I gave my life to Star Wars in my teen years, you’ll never understand.

I think you're wrong lol.
I've never seen Vader sloppily swing 1 arm attacks. He was flicking his wrist ffs, it was sloppy and uncoordinated.
Vaders style is somewhat samurai influenced. He usually ALWAYS has his saber wielded with both hands, just like a samurai would wield a katana.
I can see blocking with 1 hand if it's against a weak opponent, or a spinning attack of some sort where he let's go with 1 hand and swings through with the other hand.
Disney has shown through the movies and these streaming shows - they can't get the fight/combat scenes right to save their lives. 90% of the time its sloppy and uncoordinated. Minimal effort put in towards making it look impressive.

I had a SW encyclopedia memorized front to back when I was like 8
this was back when there was still only 3 movies and a few video games however

I think the fight with ashoka in rebels was perfect. He's still deceptively quick, and you combine that with the brute force and power behind his saber attacks. It makes sense, with the suit and losing most of his agility, his new style is predicated on being efficent and still overpowering opponents even with his limitations.
Almost always 2 handed, I've never seen him flick his saber around with 1 hand like in this last episode. The movement of whoever was in the suit just made Vader look like a cosplayer. Didn't actually look like it was him. Just some goof running around swinging a lightsaber

You're never gonna afford a g6 with these math skills
Great episode. I know people don’t like Reva but I’m curious what her end goal is cause it can’t be “I want to be second to Darth Vader”, can it?

You weren't aware of the different saber forms?
I think a lot of the lore when it comes to that has been in the last 20 years or so.
Anakin had an aggressive style, which is how he overpowered Dooku. That was a bad matchup lightsaber wise for Dooku. Obi-Wan on the other hand has the best defensive saber style. Just think how he outlasted Anakin and then killed maul in their rematch. Grievous too. His style allows him to handle attacks and a pace that would overwhelm most others.
Now with the suit anakin developed a new style that makes up for his lack of agility and being more stationary. He's still quick as f***, but the quickness is in his lightsaber strikes, not in the flips and athleticism he used to have.
On the whole I’m really enjoying the show so far, but I desperately wish that it had been a two-hour movie with a massive budget. The writing would’ve had more polish and the sets/effects would’ve been way better
Maybe even a two part movie series so they could get more time to show the full story. That would’ve been sick
I think this was a movie 1st and then when Solo bombed they decided to cool off with the "A Star Wars Story" movies
