True, there’s always the possibility of behind the scenese transactions but it just feels unlikely that the original artist would be like “pay me under the table and do not credit me”

Especially when Praise God could have EASILY gone without having the sample cleared, as it was removed throughout the song process. I dont sense any foul play from Kanye here, but one of his many producers might have tried to impress him and presented him the beat without mentioning the sample

True, I didn't think of the credit aspect unless one of the names is just someone we don't recognize n didn't notice (just talking in general, idk the actual credits)

Sometimes they don't get actually credited but yeah it depends - that's a good point tho if there's no sign at all of an artist, org or the song title somewhere in the credits

As far as I know, the only time a sampled artist doesnt get credited as a songwriter is if all parties involved with the sample decline a cut of publishing, in favor of a behind the scenes up front payout. Doing that on a Kanye West single pre-2022 wouldve been a poor decision financially.

Pusha T said Kanye was the kind of guy to give up 100% of publishing to a sampled artist if it meant getting the song out. I really dont believe he skimped on sample clearances intentionally
