Got the offer but they are lowballing the f*** out of me
With a promotion and a bonus at my current job, the gap between what I was expecting to get offered closes a quite a bit so I think I’ll just stay where I’m at. I got a pretty decent thing going here now so I think it works out pretty well for me.
Nasty work.
Anyone have any experience doing work with non-profits? I legit wanna arrange a mini talk/call if so, I'm looking to expand into that world and need the 411.
Holla at ya boy...
2 months in and idk if i'm feeling the msp life. Feels like i'm staring at the timer all day.
Switch to somewhere that has internal IT team

who has advice on landing my first cybersecurity role? I’ve been in helpdesk for 6 months and figured it’s probably not too early to start studying for some certifications. I’m told ISC2 certs are more worth pursuing than the CompTIA ones. Anyone able to attest to this?

the cissp/cism are the heavy hitters but they are worthless for you since you are entry level. you would probably be better served with sec+/cysa+ and/or the blue team level 1 / 2 certs. you should realistically be doing labs and projects to get hands on experience and exposure to cyber tools and methodologies. this is what will actually make you job ready since you'll have more than just theoretical security knowledge which is what matters most in interviews; being able to show the interviewer that you can actually DO the job.
come to terms i work at a tarded company that wastes time all day
would have quit if they weren't paying $200k a year forever
just gonna rid it out get 2-3 years on the resume and if it doesn't get better bounce
Who’s dipped out of IT?
Thinking about it
A year ago I was about ready. I’m fine now.

Upgrading next week and currently planning out my homelab setup/study plan.
I think I’m gunning for a SOC a***yst type role in the future so I’m gonna try and familiarize myself with splunk and attacking VM’s from my laptop, maybe. Idk yet, Im just excited to get started.
