    Restored batch from 2001

Every copy of this 2001 CD that I've come across had errors throughout such as skipping, gaps and clicks of which could've been caused by hardware or software issues or disc damage. I fixed these errors through Izotope to restore this legendary batch back to how it was when Dilla made it.... and so there was no remastering done, no dynamics squashed from increasing volume and no tinkering with the track listing. The only addition I've made here is the cover art and fan-made track titles which anyone can remove on their end if they wish. The vast majority of the titles are based off the sample which Dilla used on it and some are based off their official release.

Here is an Apple lossless copy of Da 1st Installment for anyone on Mac
    Apple Lossless : pixeldrain.com/u/cXvPbfaz

    and here is the FLAC
    FLAC : pixeldrain.com/u/XSXSHgWZ

I exported it as lossless to avoid harming audio quality which is what happens when re-encoding to MP3

The greatest to have ever done it.

Sometimes I’m glad I’m from Michigan.

This is one of them reasons.

This is the full 2000 batch with the bonus leftovers included at the end. Most people know of the batch as the shorter 47-track version on the bootleg 'Hiccupped Classix Vol. Se7en'. This 64-track version would be the CD J.Rocc handed to Madlib in 2000, which he then used to create the legendary 'JAYLIB' tape. The track titles are fan-made. Tracks 1-43 sound like multi-generation dubs and likely made in '99, unlike the higher quality tracks 45-64 recorded to the same tape. Track 44 is a snippet of the tape's hiss and noise floor. This track also appeared on the bootleg 'Dimension of Dilla' along with beats from both ends of this batch. I have kept this track as it appears to have been part of the CD and I removed errors such as gaps, skips, and glitches. No EQ or volume boosting. I've also exported the project as FLAC to avoid the quality loss that would result from converting MP3 to MP3.

Straight from the cassette! no gaps and no remastering necessary! Download is in the comment section

I removed the gaps on iZotope RX10 and exported as FLAC so as to not harm any quality by re-encoding to MP3. The source files were around 320kbps and they were the highest quality version I was able to source. I've heard some remasters and denoises of this batch around, remastering this tape is not necessary and the benefits of denoising it don't justify the artifacts that process introduces in return so I think it's best to leave it as is.

As with most, if not all Dilla beat tapes, the track titles are fan made and in this case so is the title "The New Slave", however, this title has been used to identify the batch by Okayplayer and the Dilla Time book as well as the majority of Dilla fans. "Cover small.jpg" is the highest resolution of the fan-made cover art that I could find, I was able to do a nice upscale of it though. I don't know who made the cover art, if anyone does, please let me know. I'm also interested in any history regarding Dilla batches and their presence and provenance on the internet so hit me up if you'd like to share any. padybuplays@gmail.com

    Happy Thanksgiving x
