I have a newfound appreciation for Big Hammer post-album release; s*** is hitting harder than when it released as a single
Back then I thought it was only a decent tune, but it didn’t go in interesting musical directions as much as I would’ve liked.
Now I’m hooked on it
Looking back on its release, the fact that James just came off of the big spotlight with Spider-Verse/Hummingbird and decided to drop this head-scratching track as the LEAD single of his new album makes me have such immense respect for him as an artist (as if I didn’t have enough already 😅).
Speaking of which, I enjoyed this reaction video:

IDC what anyone says; Big Hammer is a TOP 3 track on the album
Album’ steadily creeping into my top 10 of the year
Fall Back is on a loop in my head

Amazing vibe. Like you could fall into it and get into a trance state. He started on time after his pre act and did more than 90 mins. It was intense with a lot of live remixes.
i'm not afraid
i've already failed so many times
you're the only one on my side, I'M COUNTING MYSELF...
wtf James. WTF
damn i'm reading the little blurbs on AM that break down the songs and If You Can Hear Me wasn't even necessarily written about his own situation. cool af to know
This is a letting go sort of song, too—a letting go of the constant pursuit of something, the pursuit of success or the pursuit of music, or the pursuit of whatever it is in your own life. It was actually written at the time of the movie Ad Astra, because I was writing something for it which ended up not being used. It was written to the scene where he finally communicates with his father who’s out in space and who might never come back. I think that in some way it’s a nice metaphor for how we go on our own path compared to our parents or maybe our father, in this case. We are trying to go as far as we can in a certain direction without getting lost and hopefully not repeating the same mistakes they did, but also learning from what they got right.
after at least bout 20 listens I’ll say this a 10/10 for me dawg, up there with self-titled
