Yeah 1 that sounded like a PRIH leftover. It was good. He played a lot more unreleased in march that’ll probably be on his next record - sounded like a return to TCIA form

    Cheers man

I wonder if his label would allow him to release another new album as soon as next year. I remember Animal Collective had to wait till 2009 to release Merriweather Post Pavilion because of label guidelines.

So for post-FTBYH unreleased material we have Depend on You, Death of Love, Let Her Know, the batch of anonymously tagged tracks in his Mixmag mix that are clearly by him, the unreleased track you heard, and this absolute beaut of a serenade:

    Starts at the 1:23:00 mark

There’s a list of all of his old unreleased material filled with clickable links on the old forum, but every time I try to load the old JB thread, the site crashes on me
I think it’s the way the OP was designed that is too demanding for the forum’s servers to handle or something

No I mean the old KTT, “KTT1” or “KTT1.5” so to speak. There’s a list of all of James’ old unreleased music on there.

Seen him 5 times in total, and the gig I went to from this current tour was probably the most fun I’ve had at his live shows, thanks to the dancier numbers from his latest album.

One thing I should’ve done is show up early to be standing at the front row..
I went a little too hard with my dancing movements and kept hitting the back of this guy’s head with the front of my cap I felt so bad lmao
If I were at the front then this could’ve avoided.. My dumbass really thought the doors opened at 8pm since I haven’t been to a live show since 2019.

I’ll give a proper write-up of his concert in the coming days

Is his boiler room set up yet?

Is his boiler room set up yet?

It doesn’t seem like they recorded it for public viewing
I looked for more info on the event back when it was initially revealed that James is DJing and I couldn’t find anything with regard to his set being viewable later on.

If you want to check out a recent DJ set of his, scroll up on this page; I posted his CMYK set in Chicago from June of this year

    🚨🚨🚨HOLD THE F*** UP🚨🚨🚨

James’ newest Boiler Room set bout to be viewable soon
@MyLeftBrain turns out I was wrong

    Speaking of Boiler Room,
Can’t believe they finally released this one tune that James played in his BR set from 3 years ago

    Starts at the 8-minute mark

And it’s by none other than Erick the Architect & Channel Tres 🤯

So I went to his Montreal show last Tuesday (Oct. 10th), and I came out enraptured by the end of it.
I had an immediate urge to go see him again, a kind of feeling I didn’t really have with the 4 previous live shows of his that I’ve been to.
That’s because the PRIH material mostly lends itself incredibly well in a live setting. He performed most of the album with a mix of the usual crowd pleasers. Gonna go through a few songs he did:

    • The first tune that made me lose my s*** was when "Big Hammer" came on, BUT it sounded very different from the recorded version, like a discounted version tbh lmao. I feel like he didn’t do the track justice sadly. Imagine my increasing disappointment when said track was merely being used as an intro to a medley with “Loading”, a song that I’m not really a fan of..
    • “Fall Back” was the highlight of the show. Something about the acoustics of the venue plus whatever wizardry James and the band did to transpose the tune to a live setting was f***ing remarkable. I’m gonna struggle with the description of how it sounded; it sounded like something big and scary was shuffling about aggressively in the background. Mind-blowing stuff. Goddamn James (and Ben and Rob).
    • I noticed the crowd didn’t move as much as the danceable tracks demanded it.. but you could tell they still truly appreciated James and his bandmates. They gave extended applause for "Voyeur", which never happened to the other concerts I’ve been to.
    • The greatest contribution from the Montreal crowd was when a couple of dedicated fans passionately requested "Say What You Will", a song James hasn’t performed at all during this tour, simply because he didn’t bring the necessary gear for it. So he gave in to the requests and did a solo-PIANO version of SWYW and BODIED that s***. The audience was so into it that they practically sang every lyric of the song (not just the “Say what you willll” refrain). S*** made me proud of my city 🥹

I could go on and on about the rest of the setlist, but for brevity’s sake, imma stop here.
Next time I get the chance to see him again, I won’t be going just because it’s JB, but because I wanna tear up the dance floor*

Bro when Fall Back dropped and the lights rotated at least that happened in Boston and I think the lights have been consistent all tour

I was front row and center stage for the goat, had the time of my life. Someone behind me yelled out “play A Case of You” and the madlad actually did it. He played for 2 hours and covered all 6 albums, ended it with a new version of modern soul (my fav song of his). Couldn’t have been a better show.
