I mean it depends on what it’s up against, it was pretty big in the US. 28 on the top 100 is nothing to scoff at.

Now this is a different story. This kind of feels like Jeezy vs Ross to me, obviously Ross has all the star power like Mariah but depending on how it goes I can see Janet winning

The difference is that I said anything from his first 3 albums is a guaranteed win and I was right. I can’t just play anything from Velvet Rope and expect to win, also her biggest hits from the 90’s don’t have the same staying power as Mariah’s hits from the 90’s. Janet getting blacklisted blocked a whole generation (ktt) from hearing her music for all of the 2000’s and beyond.

I usually agree with you on everything but I’m gonna stand firm on my opinion here.

Her being blackballed doesn’t take away the fact that she has 10 #1’s and the best album between the two. Velvet Rope is considered one of the best albums of the 90’s.

I don’t f*** with Cactano but when I saw this I gained a little bit of respect for him. But that’s not what really surprised me about this.. it was the comment section.

You’re severely underestimating Janet man. The only solution I can think of is subbing Aaliyah in for either artist, probably sub in for Mariah and have it be Janet vs Aaliyah but even then Aaliyah just isn’t losing. That’s something I’m 100% positive on lol.

Janet doesn’t have the hits that Mariah has but I’d say she’s the better artist, to me anyway.

Yes, I saw the review and i know that WE love her work but what I’m saying is that this isn’t Velvet Rope vs Butterfly. This is Janet’s biggest hits vs Mariah’s biggest hits. It’s not fun if it’s not a fair competition. We Belong Together, Honey, Touch My Body, Fantasy, Don’t Forget About Us, etc. Too many Auto W’s
