You oughta read a bit about it if that sounds interesting to you
Americans have this 1984 dystopia view of china, and while much of that is justified, they get a lot good tradeoffs for it. Incredibly low crime rate, very affordable housing outside of tier 1 cities, good public healthcare for the most part, incredible infrastructure, fascinating culture
Of course, everything is heavily censored and dissent isn't tolerated. On top of that, the academic pressure is extraordinarily brutal because of the"filtering" process students go through at certain stages in their academic careers into groups based on Beijing's central planning needs, eventually culminating in the Gaokao (national college entrance exam) which pretty much determines whether you'll be an intellectual or a laborer.
Work schedules can be rough too, even though the government is actually cracking down on overworking employees. Supposedly they're supposed to be limited to 44 hour weeks with minimal overtime, but obviously many companies ignore that.

it is def interesting.
imagine the stress taking that exam. insane.
Not an issue for me and my wires
u gonna have tubes in your ears while listening to your tubes with your ears

PLAAAAYY in the backyard…. where the grass and spiderwebs grow
He yell sings
But it's good
Not an issue for me and my wires
I think I'd rather have to buy new earbuds every couple of years than deal with wires

The Gaokao is interesting because it acts as the great equalizer in a culture that puts fairness and meritocracy on a pedestal. Xi has done a lot of work to destroy corruption from the bottom up in China, and the thought is that without the Gaokao, the rich would just bribe their way into school. At the same time, it's the source of extreme stress for kids their entire lives, because their future and family's reputation depends on their performance.
