ok! I was initially very excited to read this, because I am a big fan of scott snyder’s batman. the court of owls etc are some of my favourite batman arcs.

But I did find this one to be quite a slog. I appreciated that there were a lot of elements of a traditional batman story they tried to flip on its head. Batman turning evil, fighting alfred, alfred using guns, some multiverse stuff which is atypical of a batman story unless he’s in the justice league or something.

The art was pretty good. i think the dark aesthetic works very well for the story and it was lose enough that you aren’t lost in details, it gives you just enough to fill the story in your mind.

i think the design of the batman who laughed looked extremely cool

I liked the owls making an appearance too!

200 pages just for batman to basically just shoot the batman who laughs was like. idk it felt like a disappointing resolution to a pretty predictable multiverse comic book.

I also hold scott snyder to a very high standard. Compared this to the many deaths of laila starr or scott snyder other works I found it disappointing.

That was pretty fire. I loved the art and it was impressive how easy to follow everything was despite there being multiple Batmans in multiple multiverses. Kind of a masterpiece for that tbh. Was kind of rooting for The Batman Who Laughs to win but knew it wasn’t gonna happen. What a badass character. Of course Mother Theresa Batman wins out in the end. Seems like the entire moral of the comic is the same “violence isn’t the answer” trope, or that love, trust and compassion conquer all. Who cares? Let Batman f\*\*\* s\*\*\* up yfm. Loved it though. 9.5/10

tbh i’m surprised you liked it that much!!

you’ll probably fw other batman comics a lot if you enjoyed this!!
