These last two issues are pretty hard to get through .. .. . .

I think the art was really nice. Very edgy and dark. It fit the story very well. Cool colors lots of red.

Idk why the story didn't hit for me as much though. I haven't read anything else with this character (the Batman who laughs), so maybe I was just missing something? I didn't feel confused and I think this is a fully self contained story, but maybe not knowing any of the other material he was in beforehand makes this a bit less cool?

It wasn't bad really but I found parts to be a chore to get through. I couldn't feel consistently interested in what was going on.

ya I love scott snyder and he has classic batman arcs but this wasnt it. like it was good, but not like scott snyder level

It seems like this was made as fan service for the group of people who really like the role this character played in the dark metal whatever event stuff. Maybe if I had read that this would be way cooler to me. It consistently mentions stuff from that.

i saw the court of owls made a cameo too, there was a famous arc with them too a few years before this. so i think youre right this probably needed more backround
