Lupe is a great rapper/artist, but he was never built up to be a superstar. I don't think Atlantic really knew how to promote him, he was really the very first blog rapper to make it big tbh. It also hurt that CRS never really happened because he kind of needed that for his career, pretty sure with every album, his label cut his budget.
