Well obviously the games are the main appeal of Nintendo, that's why I play so many Nintendo games on non-Nintendo hardware. The vast majority of games I've played over the last handful of years have been Nintendo.

My whole point is that I don't feel a need to own the latest Nintendo hardware right now, because the new games, good as they may be, don't make me feel like I can't wait 5 years to play them.

If the successor to Switch 1 did something crazy that no other console had done before, and the games utilized that in a genuinely fun way, maybe I'd have purchased it at launch. Same thing goes for the Switch 2 itself if it had a mindblowing game from the jump. Otherwise, I can live with playing every Nintendo game in existence sans 12 for the time being, and play those 12 when/if I feel like Switch 2 is worth it for me.

They sidelined the Miis......... Do you remember how every app and menu had its own little song? And every single one was a f***ing classic............ They made a dual screen handheld for Christ's sake........ I wouldn't even have my Chinese DS if it weren't for that crazy idea............ Wii Sports? You remember that? Everybody's aunt, uncle and pet fish was playing that bowling game......... You could box your grandma........... And even before that.......... they had other gaming companies s***ting their pants when they saw the Mario 64 demos at E3............. They put Mario on a funny island with a water jetpack.................. They threw Link in the middle of a massive open world you could could pull off the TV and bring with along with you on the bus.................

Now it's just soulless white home menu with no music

Remake n64 game, port wii u game....... I need to feel the soul of Nintendo breathed into my lungs once more

There r so many shortcuts u don't even find at first like tons and so many characters and amazing music and great tracks

Nintendo's end to end experience was S tier until the Switch

Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, DS and 3DS all felt like some real Nintendo s***........

Even before menus, the N64 title screens were legendary

Once again I know this is anecdotal, but I voiced that exact comment near word for word when I was playing with a group one time and everybody else was like yeahhhhhhhhhhh

Granted, "everybody else" was 3 other people, but 3 real deal nintendo nerds nonetheless

It's just the complete opposite of the impression I get from the game

It's like a 9/10 to me

I like the core gameplay and character variety more than mk8

Only aura loss nintendo had imo was the game chat button and cameras

And that's great

I feel somewhat entitled to have an opinion on nintendo aura considering I played N64 and DS from pretty much the day I was born. Fr some of my earliest memories are playing Mario 64 and NSMB on the DS, I couldn't have been over 3

We got a Wii like a year or two after it came out, I played that to death and eventually asked my parents for a gamecube so I could play those games (we didn't know the wii played gamecube games)

3DS release was my superbowl, I was finally old enough to be conscious enough to keep up with a console release cycle......

I played some Wii U and I appreciated it but I was much more drawn to the 3DS, played that thing pretty religiously from the time I was 9 til I was 15 probably. Didn't have enough money for a Switch, but I was able to get one after a year or so and I played that thing to death too

I feel like people should have some things where they don't feel the need to criticize them. They just wholesomely enjoy them. The internet is constantly pushing is to be critical about everything all the time. For me Nintendo is my thing be satisfied by all the time.
