my old old cat, puss puss, from when i was like 3 to like 16, was an alley cat who we rescued off our porch when she was pregnant.
she was tough
and my old dog, who was 120 pounds, she would hide in the corner when he woudl go through a door and she would jump out and claw him hahahah like just to show him whose boss
then he would always like meagrely peer out around the doors to see if she was there, then when he would get complacent and comfortable, BAM get him again
this continued for years. it was the best bit.
he never hurt her ever
I felt bad for my brother's dog at first because he's like super gentle and happy and fun and wouldn't hurt a fly
He has no thoughts
I don't think he ever figured out what was trying to scratch him

Sue puffs all the way up and slowly walks over to them like she's a rottweiler

i genuinely think she just loved f***ing with him and got as much joy out of it as we did watching her do it

yeah i think she was like impartial to the dog at the worst.
but lilly like LOVED that dog they used to cuddle and sleep together all the time, she followed him everywhere and would walk underneath him.
when we first got fluffy, and had lilly and my dog doodles, we had fluffy in a kennel on one side of the highway and doodles was on the other and we hear this insane guttural growl.
and we were like ready to get mad at the dog because obviously you cant have a big dog doing that. then he looked up at us all confused, and then lilly was hiding between his legs, she was making those sounds.
literally using him as protection, while also antagonizing the other cat.
