Dec 16, 2025·3 repliesIf Nintendo decides to bring Smash to Switch 2, they should just port Ultimate and focus on new features that would make players who’ve already spent hundreds of hours on Ultimate want to play the enhanced version extensively again.
And you know what would be absolute crack?
ONLINE TEAM SQUAD STRIKE:
It’d be a 3v3 game mode (6 players total in one match), but the game format is still 1-on-1 fighters, so you get two of your buddies and try to conquer other crews of 3 online with y’all best characters.Pre-match you strategize by chatting with your buddies about picking the right order of fighters to go up against the opposing team (people would actually use GameChat).
Imagine your team is on a hot winning streak
Add rollback netcode too and I truly believe this mode would be peak

excited for the next iteration no matter what but mannnnnn if they implemented something like this…Can you imagine all the backseat gaming, roasting, or cheering on your friends during voice chat while spectating their play
S*** has mad potential! There’s so much they can do with an enhanced port rather than making a brand-new Smash from the ground up (which obviously would still be hype nonetheless).
