Switch 2 render from Nintendo today unveils c button
They put a 1 game and 2-week cap on the digital lending to family members?
I mean I guess that’s better than nothing but seems odd

Why they decided to hide it in january's render will forever remain a mystery cause they didnt show a thing about the feature anyway lol

The theme is insane, Metroid Is back
I remember loving everything about dread but the forgettable generic music. MP4 is already better than dread in this regard just off of this one track
And im thinking the main mechanic of the game still hasnt showed up. The logo has clearly a black hole inside it, and the footage we've seen i bet is of the first 30/40 minutes max. Flashbacks to TOTK trailers that didnt show anything and people complained until the final trailer hit, got a feeling we could see the same here

Too much of a risk on individual gaming sales.

This bullshit mentions something interesting.
"Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games can only be loaded on a Nintendo Switch 2 system."
So there will be enhanced switch 2 versions. The hope is that it won't be only 3rd parties patching their games

Oh, wow! Nice find. That's on their official website so it does indeed seem to confirm that there will be enhanced Switch 2 versions of Switch games.

Uncompressed MP4 trailer. Best looking game on switch imo, and runs at 60fps
Just got done watching the direct with no spoilers. Tomodachi Life was the last big announcement???? I was guassing new fire emblem or donkey kong and they blew it
What a joke of a direct
Only games I'll be playing is Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon ZA
New gamesharing system is trash and feels like they’re trying to make it as annoying as possible so people throw their hands up and buy their own games. The current system is vastly superior.
It doesn’t fix any problem the current system has and seems like an outright replacement. I know they’re letting people “opt-out” now but I wouldn’t be surprised if its temporary
It sounds like it was a good Nintendo Switch Direct right? Well anyway I am now looking forward to the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct!!!

No no no no
The new system is OPTIONAL, it’s not a way to make you do anything. It’s an optional convenience. You don’t have to change your digital games to digital game cartridges, it’s just there for people who want to lend their games and that’s pretty cool that they’re adding that

It’s optional until it isn’t. Not gonna give them benefit of the doubt after slashing vouchers and gold coins all of a sudden after years of them being there

Vouchers have left before and they came back, that’s not notable, they’re limited time always
Gold coins are ending because the switch lifecycle is ending, Im pretty sure they’ll do something similar for switch 2

Vouchers have stuck around since 2023 lol
Point is they slashed two consumer friendly programs right before Switch 2 as they try to reset the board for their next gen slate.
Virtual Game Cards are an opt-in option for Switch 1 for now, but they may very well be the default and ONLY option for game sharing for Switch 2. I hope I’m wrong.

You can. The new system allows you to share a game with let’s say a family of 5. Buy one game and share between them all.
But the old system if just two people allows you to share all your game libraries with each other.. at all times… (is a pain in the sad if more than 2 people)

Actually, vouchers came back in 2023, they left before for years and then came back, now they’re leaving again
And they could come back a third time on switch 2, I mean it’s a smart deal for them right? The amount they lose is probably less than they save when the customer shops at Eshop instead of retail.
I genuinely think it’s a win-win, vouchers aren’t just consumer friendly. Also it gets people to sign up and stay signed up because you have to be a member to use the vouchers, you can’t just buy the vouchers when subbed and then use them later without a subscription.
